WSJ thinks we will choke

Given the number of nailbiters we play each year I agree with them. When KO proves he can finish teams off once we get a lead I'll become a believer.

Is it KO or KF that plays not to lose? I'm going to go with KF. Who do you think decided to take a knee in the Ohio State game last year? I'm guessing it wasn't Kenny.

The WSJ didn't seem to account for WHY Iowa was involved in so many nailbiters.

Having to play freshman RBs, significant juggling on the OL, and having to deal with Stanzi transitioning to a more prominent role in the O were all factors that contributed to our difficulties.

The nice thing to notice now is:

- To my knowledge, the OL made it through camp pretty healthy. Apart from Gettis, we still have 4 top guys starting on the OL. That's pretty good.

- Stanzi has a nice track record of playing better ball when there is a running game that has his back. Furthermore, he has shown a great aptitude for improving his game in the areas where he places added focus. Reas this as: Stanzi will most likely play more cleanly

- Iowa is a good bit more experience at RB. When Hampton gets back ... we'll feature 2 guys who are each in their 3rd season in the program ... and they each have A LOT of quality carries under their respective belts. The RB situation, entering the 2010 season, is much better than it was when we were entering the '09 season.

Oh yeah .... and with our top 5 guys on the DL ... who doesn't believe that our D is poised to be even better?

And yet they were sure to mention the problems of Oklahoma.

"Disrespect" from the WSJ? Really? Please don't get your panties wadded up over this one. This is like the Nation Enquirer doing a story on the Economy of Paraguay.

What is a 'letdown' is the key question? From the national championship talk? 1,2, or 3 loss season? Nobody disagrees we will be a quality team.

Every top ten team is set up for a fall. The reason why OU probably escaped is because their expectations aren't that high, but they have the potential to shine. Iowa is expected to be very good, and therefore has farther to fall if they do not play up to these expectations. The team with the identical situation to Iowa is future conference member Nebraska. They are expected to be world beaters, but I see a lot of holes in that team.

Kirk Ferentz has repeatedly said for fans to take things one step at a time, so win those games and prove the site wrong.

I'll be glad when Saturday gets here so these moron writers can focus on what's actually going on on the field rather than spew forth idiotic conjecture.

Did the you know what for you know who arrive? I'll have some cash for you. My mom and I will stop by briefly around 7 ish but then I have to head to Happy Chef's spot bince we landed some KC passes again this year and I don't want to rub elbows with the unwashed proles in the non-KC lots for too long. What time will you be arriving for the erection ceremony?

Nothing's easy it seems.

Item ordered last week. I've been ragging vendor on a daily basis to ascertain status.

Turns out, the item was mis-delivered by FedEx to downtown Book n Crook. However, I didn't find this out until this morning. Bottom line...I'll have item in hand this evening after I hoof it downtown to retrieve said package.

Itheus is going to you-know-who's house Friday night. My thought was to deliver you-know-what to you-know-who on Friday night so they can hoof it to the spot, rather than me hoofing it 4 blocks from the VA parking lot the morning of. Bad back and all you know.

I'll be at the "spot" by 7 am on Saturday. Itheus has agreed to help with the erection.
