Didn't know Maryland fans were this bad On their boards they are wanting Woody suspended for the rest of the year. They also want to start a lawsuit.

Those fans are just awful! Not even clown fans are that bad. it was clearly unintentional.

Hawknick this might be the only negative thing you've ever said against an Iowa player ever.. We need this documented... It wasn't clearly intentional to me, but if you say so it must be... :)

I was at the game, but was too far away to see what happened and have not seen a replay. Intentional or not (and I find it hard to believe Woody would do this on purpose), I fully expect him to get a suspension of some type. There has been too much national publicity on this for the Big 10 to let it go.

Would a supsension be fair? Proably not...but for appearance's sake the Big 10 is going to use Woody to "set an example".

No way there is going to be a suspension because you can't prove intent. With that said, it looked innocent enough in live action but slow it down and it makes you scratch your head.

Intentional or not, Iowa now has a reputation as thug players. Too bad cause they are playing very very well. Nobody is talking about it though.

Oh well, let 'em cry. I'm enjoying the recent wins.

My only concern is that the refs don't start coming down on our players, calling every nickel & dime touch foul. Otherwise, I couldn't care less what other fan bases think.

Correct. Opposing fanbases will never rain down love on another team. Not worried about what they say.

I am concerned with Iowa getting a thug reputation. Then again if Iowa is winning, that's the only reputation I care about.:D

This.

A suspension would be a travesty and a joke. They'd basically be suspending a gangly 7 foot 1 guy for being a bit clumsy. That's all there is to it.

Woody's on track for the all time record at Iowa.....he has 2 more to go to beat Mark Gannon (no I totally made that up)....my point is like everyone elses's...who gives a rats a$$ what other teams think....I like the wins, so just keep'em coming.........(Woody keep those nails just tad longer when we play next....;))

I like it, I have no problem with the team getting a reputation as a somewhat dirty team, it's a hell of a lot better than being a soft team.

The word fan is short for fanatic I suppose.... That's just crazy talk. It's obvious that there was no intent there. You can tell how his hand shoots back. Again he had his out but that kid moved into it as he was going to the basket. I wasn't crazy about it being called a flagrant foul like that. They should have called a common foul at the time. (would have cost us that 3 pter in transition) But not a flagrant after the fact like that. What if it would he turned his head an inch and he just gets the side of his head? It's only a flagrant when you get em in the eye as flukey as that is.... I've seen a lot of players get poked in the eye and it not be called at all. I get it he's got 3 guys in a couple weeks but I'm honestly not seeing any malicious intent from him... That's just me.

It happened twice in one game against White last year against Villinova. They looked intenetional but no flagrant 1..What a bunch of horse crap.

I for one think they are going a little overboard…but

A lot of Hawk fans are kind of brushing it under the rug. The kid did play with a puffy eye could have had a factor. If that happen to our PG you know this board would be blowing up too.

Not saying it is intentional, but what if this happens again by accident? It has happened 3 times in two different games. If it happens in a fourth game do you think the refs boot him now that he has a “wrapâ€￾? Would it be inappropriate to?
