We have to wait acouple more seasons longer to get excited about our basketball program, so come on Clowns let us hear it.....

Yeah, I wouldn't expect much gloating from them. They lost to Drake and wasn't impressive against Northern Colorado? Looks like a long winter in this state for basketball again.

What is this clown troll you speak of?

Sorry I'm on a tablet so I can't combine the two.

The Iowa/Iowa State rivalry hasn't been that intense in b-ball for a long time. I don't remember the last time smack talk took place on the basketball board.

Not a Clown but a Panther, and tonight, I'm not saying a word. OK, I'll say a couple. Be patient.
It's November. Yes, you were hoping for a better year. However, given the condition this team was in when McCafferey got the job, it's just gonna take time. Even Lute Olson had several seasons in the wilderness after he got hired before the Hawks became a perennial Big 10 power. Building a program takes years. Plus, it's where the team is playing at the END of the season that counts; not the beginning. So, I'm not going to rub it in. I've got enough to worry about following my Panthers (remember that little egg they laid in the season opener?)
Anyway, good luck on the season, except for that little road trip you take on December 6. That one I do hope you lose! ;)

Completely right. Keep in mind, everyone, that our season opener last year was a double-digit home loss to South Dakota State, and a few months later we were beating Purdue and getting all pumped. Fran proved over 31 games last year that he's a solid coach. Give it time.

Our team has not shown anything that should give Cyclone fans much confidence. We probably set ourselves up for an even bigger fall because we hyped the transfers to the point where we started to expect a tourney appearance.

We have some talent, but absolutely have not shown the ability to rebound or defend. Our offense looks lost because of no PG.

Basically we look like we're playing the same ball that we did in the Cap City League.

I would love to see ISU and Iowa become good programs again, as it means a lot more for the rivalry. I'm sick of being dominated by the Missouri Valley. How about you guys?

Considering ISU needed a school record in three's to beat Northern Colorado who is worse than Campbell I doubt they will say much.

My 4th grader took a test the other day that evidently everyone did poorly on. My kid did better than most. I asked her about the test and the first thing she said "well you should have seen how everyone else did" Same thing here ISU, UNI, Drake, IA all have work to do and poor performances from the others do not create validity for the other teams. The ISU "fans" talking **** over this have no room to talk. We have our our deamons

Did you go to her class's message board and tell the rest of the students not to worry cuz your daughter sucked too? :D

This thread is beyond lame. Dear Fred and Fran... please resurrect basketball in this state so I don't have to see this crap anymore.

Shocking that a supposed UNI fan is a junior Hawkeye fan.

(I say supposed because there is no such thing as an actual UNI fan)

Yes, I'm an actual UNI fan. I'm an alumi. When I was a kid, I followed the Hawkeyes. When I left the state in the early 90s, I got away from following any of the Iowa teams. When I moved back in 05, UNI was doing very well and I've followed them ever since. They've also been the most successful men's basketball program in Iowa during those years so why wouldn't I follow them? That being said, I'll root for any of Iowa schools.

I didn't know that 13 posts on an Iowa board made me a junior. ;)
