Anyone watching The Barclays 3rd round?!? Holy schit are some of the guys in the gallery making azzes of themselves. I'm guessing they are a bunch of drunken new yorkers, bince the tourney is at Bethpage in NY.
Seriously offensive shouting during all phases of play, totally rude to the point that the announcers are blasting the loudmouth dooshes.

Definately noticed the same thing. A little ridiculous.
My wife even noticed it and she does not like watching golf and was barely even paying attention.

Watchin the replay on the Golf channel. They are vocal. Pro golf has now been taken over by the spectators.

These times, the are a'changin.

Why can't they yell? People do it at football and basketball games all the time. :)

No dude, it's like when the players are lining up and standing over putts, these goons are yelling all sorts of foul stuff, yelling at David Feherty, yelling taunts, mocking everything at top volume.
It's bad. They're hooligans. It reinforces the Ugly American thing. (I won't call it a stereotype, because it isn't.)

Is it really as bad as we think, or are we like every other generation that finds itself at that point where we have the opportunity to observe the shift and find it not to our liking?

Good question.

I've never been what some would call a "stickler" for decorum, but let's be honest here: there is a time and a place to repeatedly shout moronic nonsense, and that place is NOT a high-profile golf tournament in a historic setting.
Save it for professional wrasslin' or nasscar.
You know?

Agreed.

GET IN THE HOLE!!!! Is there a more moronic statement than that? Happens all the time at any and all tournaments. What posseses a spectator today to shout that out? It's already WAAAY over done, yet they feel compelled to yell it anyway.

I don't get it.

BE THE MANNNN!!!
YOU DA MANNNNN!!!

:confused::mad:

I happen to think anyone who YELLS! anything at a pro golf tournament is a fokking idiot who should be thrown out.
It's just not a shouting occasion. Ever.

(I mean, you can yell "yaaaay!", but that's not a stupid phrase timed just right and solely designed to shift attention from the performers on to the idiot who is yelling.)

"get in the hole" is from an older tiger woods golf game and it got blown out of proportion since...I think it was like '02 or '03
