Would you take a first round BTT loss if it meant winning the first round of NCAAs?

That is what I'm hoping for. Still, very strange 2 years in a row Iowa handles two teams in the regular season (Northwestern and PSU) only to loss to both of them in the first round of the BTT. Perhaps the very definition of an up and down team.

Hell yes!!!

Do something good in the dance, nobody will give a crap about the PSU loss.

Completely agree.... it's all about the NCAA Tourney.

Yes.... If it works that way. Thing is, losing this game also just made the prospect of winning 2 or more NCAA games far less likely, unless the committee finds it in their hearts to NOT give Iowa an 8/9 seed, but it doesn't seem to be in their nature to do us any favors.

Will lose both probably

I don't really want a first round ncaa win, would like 1 of the 60 first round byes.

Who cares. It's about winning more than one game in the NCAA. The Tom Davis mediocrity! Win one, get embarrassed, & go home.

Perhaps....but I will take the Mr. Davis route over the Lick nothing route.

I'll take Ralph & Lute any day. Mr. Davis never won anything & never seriously challenged for anything. At least Alford won something!

abso-frakin-lutley.

Iowa hasn't enjoyed "Mr. Davis level mediocrity" since 2001. had to believe (and very sad) that's the last time Iowa won an NCAA tourney game.

Alford can keep his "Championships" for all I care.

Do we really need a new thread for this? This has to be one of the dumbest hypothetical questions I've ever seen posted here.

I haven't reviewed any of the responses to your post as of yet, but please don't take this the wrong way. I think it is a stupid premise since I personally don't believe the extra time off gives a team an advantage in their first NCAA Tournament game. The two are not mutually exclusive.

The only reason to ask this question is to try to find some silver lining in a loss to a team that basically doesn't know how to win but beat us on a neutral court where we typically have a lot of fans, making it a little less neutral and a little bit of a home court advantage for us in a way.

Too bad we blew a golden opportunity to pick up two wins by blowing the first game. Still, this will go by the wayside if we garner the six seed some thing we might be able to snare and we win the first NCAA Tournament game and Hopefully the second.

Wow. On another thread you're calling out players by name. Now you're calling out our former coach who just happened to get us to the NCAA tournament 9 times and the NIT 2 times out of his 13 years.

Three NCAA appearances in 8 years with only one win. Publicly supporting a rapist while maligning his accuser. Took you about two seasons to alienate the press and about two more to alienate the fan base and another one to alienate the students.

Nope, don't miss you at all.

Agree.

Sometimes you can't fix stupid. Won't even be shamed.
