Would you be concerned about your daugher playing fooball.. errrr soccer?

Soccer is secretly a dangerous sport not only for concussions but also for knee/ankle injuries. I wonder why the media aren't asking if people will stop playing/watching soccer world wide. Oh that's right, it's becuase IT"S A STUPID ******* THOUGHT

Soccer should be banned. Period. Exclamation Point. It's boring. There's already a sport like it that's more fun to watch and that's called Hockey.

Soccer is a great sport, but yes very, very physical. In a tournament last weekend my son got kicked in the face, got taken to the trainer’s table with a bloody nose. Hustled back in the game and no sooner got shoved to the ground and sprained his wrist and went back to the trainer’s table. Came back in the game and then they carted another kid off with a sprained knee…..very tough exciting sport.

A couple years back he went a 5 or 6 game stretch where he got blasted close range in the face with a soccer ball and one time got kicked so hard in the stomach it left seams. He is a tough kid and it’s been my experience there are a lot of tough kids playing soccer.

Sounds like Rudy.

I wouldn't want my daughter playin any sports...because I heard on teh radio that all girls sports turn them teh lesbo. And basketball could potentially turn her into a "Knappy headed" not nice word person.

Well he just turned 14 and typically plays on a U14 and U15 traveling teams, but they were playing in a U16/17 TOURNEY.

My daughter also plays, she will be 12 in about 20 days, but she plays up to, on another u14 team of lesser skill. My two other boys also play, but only rec league right now...they are younger.

The cool thing about your kids playing soccer is….it keeps them in excellent shape and vastly improves their athleticism, because it is such a demanding sport as far as start, stop, side to side movement and explosion. It teaches them to use their body for positioning and to jump, etc…..it really translates well to other sports they may eventually play. It is my opinion that youth soccer in America is a major reason why you are seeing an upswing of the white athlete.

It is also a very exciting sport. I know there are detractors, but I am very high strung & Mr immediate gratification and I like it better than any other sport but football and maybe college bball. And that wasn’t always the case. In fact at one time I’d have been the typical short-sighted American, but the nuances and difficulty of the game. The up and down the field action, every trip in the box, every corner kick is of upmost important and very intense. It IS a very exciting sport, without any meaningless fluff and the set up kicks, for the set up kicks, for the setup, etc is intricate and cerebral. 80 yard kicks cross field foot to foot, head shots, splitting multiple defenders…honestly Im getting excited writing about it.

It’s a really cool sport that won me over…I can’t believe at one time I thought it was boring. It is so intense from the opening kick. And constant action!!
