Would we have been better off w/Stallings?

Discuss. I'd say debate, but there really can't be one, can there?

Yes. I have defended Lick on here, and Stallings was the guy that I wanted to get the job based on what he had done at Vanderbilt in a pretty difficult conference.

I hope that Lick is successful, but I was kind of heartbroken when Stallings didn't get the job.

We have low enough tempo / lack of possessions as it is, I don't think Stalling will help anything. Instead of Stalling, we should be attacking the basket.

The fact that the two final candidates were Lick and Stallings says a bunch about our program. And perhaps a little about Barta.

I wouldn't say the SEC is a difficult basketball conference. Outside of Kentucky, Tenn, and Florida (not so much now) there isn't much else.

I might get some crap for this, but I wanted Steve Lavin, I just thought he would have been a great fit.

Yes. Stallings, who I admit I was not real excited about, just like lick,at hiring time, has proven his ability to attract NBA quality recruits to a high academic institution.

I have not watched that much Vandy bb, but at least his ''system'' does not drive top talent away,evidently...so yes, Stallings would have been much better.

When you get right down to it...can you think of any coach that could have done worse than lick so far?

Greg McDermott

Does anyone remember if Mark Turgeon (was Wichita State, now Texas A&M) was a candidate? I thought I heard that but can't remember. I thought A&M/Kansas was a pretty entertaining game a couple of nights ago.

HScott...I was liking Lavin also.

Anyone think the new coach comes with the completion of the new renovations?

Gillespie seems to be a popular thought.

Lavin still out there.

BJ as an assisitant/recruiter?
