Would 6-6 be OK?

After week 1, I see 1-0. I'll see something different after week 2. If they happen to end the season at 6-6 which is a possibility (that I doubt) then it all depends on how they reach 6-6 IMO. If they quit playing midway through the season and throw in the towel then I'll be disappointed. If they fight hard every Saturday and that is the best we can do then I'll be supportive.
However, I must add that with this team and this schedule I see us doing better than 6-6. But that's just one opinion that means absolutely nothing.
I would like to change my answer to this. If we are competitive in every game and the ball just doesn't bounce our way, I'll hold off on the rabble rabble rabble.

I'm definitely a positive person and as I said earlier I'd accept 6-6 if they fought all the way alot more than I would accept 7-5 and 8-4 or even 9-3 if they quit playing and the effort wasn't there. Although it ultimately comes down to wins and losses, IMO there are a number of other things that can be almost as important.

6-6 is never "acceptable" in my book - although in down/rebuilding years, I realize it could happen from time to time. But with this year's schedule, I think I would still be particularly dissatisfied with a 6-6 record.

6-6 is not ok. After "we" win Saturday "we'll" go 5-0 to start the season, before we hit the meat of the schedule....and everyone will forget about NIU. Everyone just calm down

When have we ever beat all of the teams we were suppose to beat? 2009 was close, and the Hawks take care of NW if Stanzi stays upright. Other than that, it just seems that we lose at least one every year. That's why I'm not confident we start 5-0. That, and the game will be tough Saturday. With that said, Iowa has been known to pull of some upsets now and again also. I expect 8 wins with this schedule, but most likely, we'll see 7. If it's only 6 wins, I will be ******.

Not acceptable but with this years talent and lack of experience it could be a reality.

I would simply like to see the team play with intensity for the entire game and an Offense that can show consistency. (haven't seen that since the Michigan St game in 2010)

I'll be happy if Iowa makes a bowl game....but unless they start playing better, that could be a difficult accomplishment.

I saw our AD on TV the other night stating very unequivocally that 7-5 was not all right so I don't know how he could consider 6-6 to be OK.

Given we are in a rebuilding year(s)... how bad would a 6-6 season be? I'm still hoping for 7 or 8 wins as we'll be at 2 after Saturday. But after week one I could see a 6-6 year.

No.

And Its not ok that Iowa is rebuilding.

Not that anyone asked me what I thought.

When you have one of the highest paid coaches in the nation 6-6 is not acceptable and he should be fired. A man of honor would simply step down.

I would also point out the obvious fact that 6-6 is not even a winning record. I don't see how that could ever be considered to be acceptable.

Even 7-5 I don't consider to be acceptable on a year-to-year basis. 8-4 or better is my goal for each and every Iowa team.

It seems the program has hit mediocre stage that we can come out of. We shouldn't have to rebuild every two years but what are you gonna do. I still have to pay my bills whether their 6-6 or 12-0. I try not to get to worked up about it.

ummmmmmm, ummmmmmmm, nope! 6-6 with this weak of a schedule should never occur. we should have four wins before we get to conference play. lets say 3-1 in four non-conference games, then we only get 3 wins against purdue, northwestern, minnesota, indiana, and penn state with no wins against michigan, msu, or nebraska. no way. there's never a year that in that middle section we should only get 3 wins. mathematically speaking, with this schedule, we should fall into 7 wins by being Iowa. No thats not okay.
