Worst penalty??

So its 24-24 late 4th quarter, the ref throws a penalty flag against Iowa. Give me the penalty that makes u groan the most, on both offense and defense.

Pass interference that gives the opponent's offense position to score a game-winning touchdown.
Holding on offense inside the opponent's 5. Next play fumble the ball away.

Offense--Delay of game, intentional grounding

Defense--Late hit, especially out of bounds

Both--Too many men on the field, taunting

4th and 15 then running into the kicker after making a game winning defensive stand against Wisconsin. Wisconsin continues drive for a last second field goal for the win.

Ball bounces off of an Iowa player's head while Iowa is trying to field a punt from Wisconsin after a great defensive stand. Wisconsin kicks game winning field goal and the fans flood the field.

On offense it is a play where we score an 81 yard passing TD but the play is called back because the slot receiver was on the line and thus we had an ineligible receiver downfield.

On defense, I would have to say player lined up in the neutral zone on 3rd and 4 where we got a stop, but the penalty gives them the first down.

Sideline penalty because one of the Ferentz's is standing 20 yards in the field of play. That would suck.

The proverbial 23 year old fan who's been crushing beers for 12 hrs who decides it would be a great idea to strip down and streak across the field and do a snow angel on the 20 yrd line. Delay of game. That would suck.

Offense - Chop block (It seems like this is a specific point of emphasis for refs against Iowa)

Defense - Defensive holding when it occurs away from the play

Special Teams - The block-in-the-back or holding calls that put you inside the 10yd line on a drive

If we just called a time out on offense then it is a delay of game penalty.

Any penalty on defense would make me groan.

On offense it would have to be a BS holding call or a delay of game coming out of a timeout.
On defense I would say a questionable late hit to the QB that easily could/should have been a no call.

The one that annoys the crap out of me is holding or a block in the back call when it's completely away from the play and has zero effect on the outcome of the play. So stupid that a good play should be called back because of something on the other side of the field.
