Illinois football reminds me of the Mets.

Thomas should have left the football team alone and just gone for a new OC !

The football team was making slow but staedy progress the last three years. Zook was starting to get it - not micro managing - finding some good Assts. etc.

Now we have the worst scenario of all and a terrible staff from top to bottom. The AD looks like an idiot as well. We are the biggest joke in college sports.

I was joking about wanting teh ZOOKER back, but I guess they are so forelorn....

Illinois is having a year similar to Ferentz's first year at Iowa. Lot of losses, most of them blow-outs.

Major difference is that Illinois had plenty of talent on that roster for the new coach, whereas Ferentz inherited a bare cupboard...and everyone knew it was completely empty.

Illinois returned 15 starters out of 22 from last year's team.

IMO the biggest difference is that it appears the team has quit playing. I think we all understand that they had a lot of bumps in the road and it wasn't going to be easy, but the passion is gone and they simply look as though they don't want to be there.
