The sport book responsible for moving the line this week could have mob ties. Curious if this has anybody worried. Why does organized crime not like Iowa?

Because they keep betting on us to lose and than we win and they lose money. It's a perpetual hate that will just get worse and worse before they come into Iowa City and break everyone's kneecaps.

I don't worry about stuff like this. What is there to worry about? If the hawks don't turn it over they win, IMO

If Tony Soprano wants to make it easier for me to fill my pockets, so be it. I would take the hawks if the line had us by 6. I just cant justify how we dont come out and roll these guys...I will eat my words if I'm wrong.

On Iowa.

I do agree, However It does concern me that the line has moved this much and that it is sports books that are responsible for the move. When was the last time time The #6 team in the nation was an underdog to a 3 loss team. I think the fix maybe in on this one.

Jon and Bucket, in another thread, said it best. You don't put yourself in the position where the zebras affect the outcome - ala Arkansas.

Come out and take it to MSU, control the LOS, get up early, and stay on the gas.

How about this...the sportsbook in question received a lot of money in house on Iowa....and they wanted to offset their interests, literally hedging their bets, and they put money on MSU and they will capture the juice.

Don't let your mind wander so far ;)

And last week, there was a similar move in the Iowa-Wisconsin game...and that one turned out OK...less than five total penalties in the game.

Don't think that referees around the country aren't on alarm after the SEC suspended the Florida-Arkansas refs for that fiasco (if I am not mistaken, the same crew with the horrible taunting call on Georgia in the LSU game). I really don't think it will be close enough to be in their hands tomorrow anyway.

Sports books don't care who wins or loses....they set the line so there are enough bets on both sides. They get their cut no matter what.

I can't blame hawk fans for being a little paranoid after the Ronnie Harmon and the more recent florida outback bowl.

If the wise guys were involved in this game, we would see the spread moving as it gets closer to kick off, not this early
