Woody's good high post passing and the other bigs

I have been liking Woodbury's passing from the elbow and top of circle especially in the Wisky game. I know he is having trouble scoring in the set offense but I think when he was out most of the end of the wisky game we had more trouble getting the ball inside.

If Woody develops, and I think a tour at a big man's camp will help, he will hone this passing skill with his ability to also work the pick and roll.

I would hope to see, maybe not this year, fran use some more screening across the lane low by the basket and some vertical screening by the big men to free up some easy baskets inside.

The more these guys play together I think the more the inside game will improve.

But I agree he has been looking a lot better. I also like how he has been taking a few dribbles at the top of the key instead of just catching the ball and waiting for someone to come get the ball from him.

I think we need to give it to him at the FT line area instead of the low block. If he gets it on the block with his back to the basket it is either a turnover or missed shot. Needs to be facing the rim right now

Not sure if anyone has taken over Pete Newell's Big Man camp after his death but that is something Woody could really use.

In the mean time Woody has stayed so steady and getting just a bit better game by game. Remember everyone, Woody has never had any real Big Man competition before this year in his career.

^that us a big item, he needs to have some great big man coaching then go up against some great competition this summer.

If he can develop some better footwork and not bringing the ball down he should be able to stuff or be above the rim with the ball all the time in close.

He has already shown he can shoot a jumper and rebound.

best passing big man iowa has had in ages. still needs to develop his post moves quite a bit but really liking his passing and toughness lately.
