I know it was only Penn State and there are better measuring sticks out there, but Woody was a beast on the boards tonight. It was like he didn't even want to let anyone else have a rebound. Love that approach out of him. He is somewhat quietly having a very solid senior season. He is kind of doing whatever is necessary each game to help the team. Some nights it's defense, others rebounding, and sometimes even putting up a double digit point effort. Happy for him because he has been a great team and program guy.

I have given Woody a hard time in the past. The truth is that he is not the 4 star stud we thought we were getting. But he plays a critical role with this team. We need him for defense and rebounding. I still would like to see him finish better around the basket, but there is not question, this team needs him.

Woody is not the scorer I think most of us were hoping for, but he seems to do everything else. He's got a streak in him, and I love that out of any player, especially the big guys. There's no room for the timid in this league. Woody owned the paint last night.

As mentioned he does have an attitude about him and that is good. He is pretty tough playing the most physical position on the floor.

He was a man out there for sure. I sure wish he had some better touch and confidence in his offense. But when it comes to about everything else you ask out of a big guy he's doing it. At least he knows his role and plays to it. It's one thing to not be that great at something and hurt your team by forcing things. He don't do that at all. Iowa wouldn't be in 1st place without him pretty safe to say that.

Considering he's been very good at 2/3 of the game and decent at the other third i don't know if i agree that he hasn't lived up to the 4 star billing. At least for this season. Especially when you consider how big men develop

He may not be a 4 star scorer, but is a 4-5 star center defender... Just ask Purdue with two 7 footers.

He's hovering around 8-10 points a game I think. But, his effect on the game can increase scoring with gaining possessions. I think people have to put that into perspective. He scores more but it doesn't show up in his scoring stat line, if you will. His D and rebounding can gain more Iowa possessions where others may score. Does this make sense.

Kind of like a point guard that gives only 6-8 points, but dishes out 10 assists. It's really worth 26-30 points.

True, just his rebounding alone. 15 boards last night if I heard right. That limits opponent opportunities, and means possible 2nd-3rd chances on our end. That's worth points even if they don't show directly on Woody's stat line.

That is my biggest concern for next season. We have no one around to do what Woody does for this team.

If Woody had a few more inches on his arms and 6 to 10 more inches vertical leap, we'd be talking about him possibly playing in the league.

Woody may be the most important player on this team.

I'm not sure we have one of those. Even with big players struggling or on the bench we've still had success. This team is so good. I don't wanna test that **** with injuries though.

Woodbury is as important than any of the other starters. Woodbury was as important as any of the other starters since he was a freshman. I think Fran has recruited well enough to replace him, but I think he has recruited well enough to replace the other seniors too. Woodbury is a lot better player than when he was a freshman and his experience will be missed next year. It will be fun to see what the new guys can do next year. The interior guys coming in appear to be better offensive players, but I doubt they will be as good defensively at least not at the start.
