Woodbury is either bad or he is good

Wait a minute. Only two games ago, Woodbury was playing some of the best BB of his life. Then all this eye poking embarrassment blows up (and before that the tipoff grabbing thing) and he's suddenly not playing with confidence, nor is he being benched by Coach despite weak play. Could the two possibly be intertwined? Could Woodbury's confidence have been shaken by all this unwanted attention (he is a college student, after all) and could Coach be trying to play him out of his funk (for lack of a better term)? Otherwise, it's hard to believe Woodbury's play would have dropped so precipitously the last two games (if indeed it has, which appears to me to be the case).

If Woody playes even decent the last 2 games we win. Having an entire season unravel due to accidental eye pokes sounds about right for iowa basketball.

I vividly remember when Mr. Davis "just couldn't get it done"....fans know best for sure. And that was before the days of the super knowledgeable message board fans.

15 years later and he was an awesome big man coach who would have taught Woody how to jump if he were here.

He's good Woody when the other team's bigs aren't taller than 6'8".
He tends to be bad Woody when they are taller than that.
This. His recruiting tape probably looked pretty good against 6'5" white high school kids. He is not a BIG center. I know people talk about all the little things he does, but it doesn't add up to enough production game in and game out to earn him the type of minutes he gets. Take Sunday for example. When Gabe got the ball in position to finish, he threw it down. Woodbury made two pathetic attempts to score and got fouled (because he is slow and can't jump) and missed 3 out of 4 free throws. He's hard to watch, and should play only to give Gabe a quick break.

I remember those days. I disagreed with his X's and O's but I did like the way he got the players to come out and play hard every game. One couldn't argue that he got a LOT out of the players he had.

I also remembering a lot of folks lamenting that they wanted Mr. Davis to hire G Raveling as his top recruiter.
