Do we know why he made the choice to “opt out” especially if he’s planning on returning to play CFB next yr? Would think he must have an “underlying condition” that may make him more susceptible to negative affects of the virus. If he does it makes sense, but if not it seems a odd.

Free training, and he’s going to graduate. Which means he can transfer to a contender type program and not have to sit.

With Jacobs coming up behind him he may not have a spot to come back to anyway... I'd say odds are he won't play for us again either.

I agree it makes sense he probably doesn’t play at Iowa next yr but saying he’s getting free training so he can transfer doesn’t make sense when you’re a starting LB. Why waste a year if you’re already a starter? Not like older is better when it come to playing in the league.

This year will not count as a year of eligibility due to COVID-19 so he will have two years left. I don't want him to leave but I can see it happening.
