With this season do Sash and McNutt leave?

Marvin needs a little more size IMHO. Seems to me a SS or Linebacker would break him like a stick if he were to go with his current size.

Love Tyler Sash... but has he EVER been a good tackler? I mean, that's never been his forte and I seriously don't know that he's ever been much of a wrapper. He's more of a "right place at the right time" guy who will torpedo your head off.

But this year people knew that and went away from him. He still did an excellent job bottling up the run, but he did have many many busted tackles this year and i'm sure he'd be the first to tell you that.

The NFL wants hard hitters (check), who can come up and stop the run (check) and are solid tacklers (may need some work.) That's where he'd benefit from another year.

I agree. In my opinion, Sash has never been a sure tackler. He often wiffs on tackles when coming up from the secondary, and not just this year. He has had his fair share of fortuitous bounces and he has capitalized on those. But he needs to work on his tackling before he goes to the NFL.

Sash is gone, and i dont blame him. he is 23 year old who doesnt like school and a has a history of shoulder problems.

Sash leaving hurts us next year, but I would suggest that we replace him with someone who actually tackles and doesn't just hit people with their shoulders...

I put this in an earlier post, but don't mind repeating it.

After the Indiana game, my kids were in an area between the locker rooms and the bus to try and get autographs. They were able to get a autographs from Stanzi, Clayborn, Sash, McNutt and James Ferentz. Something was visibly up with Sash and McNutt. I very much appreciate that they took time to sign some autographs and it's possible they just received some sort of butt chewing, but looking back, I have to wonder what was going on.

McNutt didn't say a word and didn't make eye contact. He was mad about something. Sash didn't say much, tried to sign my sons shirt, but the pen wasn't working very well. He just said, "pen's not working", turned around and walked away.

Again, I get it. Sometimes you are just not in a good mood after a game. I'm just stating the facts and wonder if something didn't happen at that time that really carried over.

With McNutt, I don't think that's unusual. He's just a really quiet guy (he didn't say anything or make eye contact after the Penn State game when I got his autograph, either). In a couple videos on Facebook with McNutt, A-Rob, and Bernstine (J.D. Griggs, who has since transferred, was also in the videos), Adam and Jordan were chatterboxes, and Marvin didn't say a whole lot. I think that's just his personality, really laid back.

Can't really say much about Sash, haven't really seen much of his overall demeanor.

In regards to his tackling, he was pretty good his first two years, IMO. Then this year he came out always looking to make the BIG hit, and it's shown in missed tackles.

guys DJK's a 5th rounder probably Mcnutt probably wouldn't even be drafted or a 7th rounder. He's not going anywhere. Sash probably the same, not going anywhere.

DJK might go higher than that, if only because the star underclassmen will stay in school due to the lockout. Teams might be a little more willing to reach due to the lack of depth in the senior class.

I think this season dropped the chance for not-quite-so-popular guys to leave early. Sash could, but all depends on how much attention he'll get. Numbers weren't big, and he was on a defense that really didn't play up to it's potential. However, he does have a bit of name recognition.

McNutt could also go, but he doesn't have as much name recognition, IMO and he was on an offense that faded fast at the tail end of the season.

Would Clayborn have stayed with an ending like this? I really think these two guys change the team in huge ways. I hope they stay.

I would certainly hope that they stay. Both are positioned to be stars on their side of the ball and would increase draft value. McNutt is good and he could take his talents and contributions to the next level next year. Be an everydown threat.

I hope Sash comes back to be the leader of our D and continue to coach our other young D backs.

The offense as a whole fizzled, but McNutt was hot to finish the year. Over the last 8 games, McNutt had 41 catches for 616 yards and 6 TD's. He was first or second over the past 6 games in the Big Ten for receptions, yards, and TD's. He and DJK pretty much were the offense for the last month.

Shut your face Toolbox...what do you know anyway? After all you said Coker will redshirt next year.
