With this season do Sash and McNutt leave?

Would Clayborn have stayed with an ending like this? I really think these two guys change the team in huge ways. I hope they stay.

I don't see either one of them leaving.
But who the hell knows when slimey agents come knocking.
If one does, it will be Sash. I think McNutt - for as damn good as he is, stays. He's got a lot of "refining" to do. This is only his 2nd year receiving after all.
He can be a downright freak next year.

McNutt will stay... Sash is another story.

Of course I haven't seen worse tackling all year than I did out of Tyler on Saturday so he might have some refining to do also.

Honestly though, if you are going to be a first rounder, you are an idiot to stay, take the money. If you are a late rounder, you're an idiot to leave.

If one of them goes, I personally think that McNutt would benefit more from it. Teams would love to have a 6'4", 215 lb receiver with 4.5 speed and good hands, even if he needs refining. He might not have a ton of success if he goes in raw, but he'd get paid based on potential (see: Troy Williamson, Derrius Heyward-Bey, etc.). I'm not sure if Sash really has much more room for growth as far as physical skills goes.

Love Tyler Sash... but has he EVER been a good tackler? I mean, that's never been his forte and I seriously don't know that he's ever been much of a wrapper. He's more of a "right place at the right time" guy who will torpedo your head off.

But this year people knew that and went away from him. He still did an excellent job bottling up the run, but he did have many many busted tackles this year and i'm sure he'd be the first to tell you that.

The NFL wants hard hitters (check), who can come up and stop the run (check) and are solid tacklers (may need some work.) That's where he'd benefit from another year.

True, and everyone including myself would like to say "I would do this" but........

As a Hawk I would like them to stay. Both still need time. But both could go make money now. Both are game changers if they play like they can. 2011 really need them.

Both guys could use another year to fine tune some things........I don't know the dynamics behind the scene it seems both guys will be losing a lot of their boys, their buddies on the team and I could understand if they are contemplating moving on themselves.

Tough call.....It wouldn't hurt either guy to do their "homework" get a feel from scouts, talk to parents, talk to KF and staff and make a decision accordingly.

If I were McNutt I would stay. He's most likely going to be the primary receiver next year and his stock should rise dramatically just because his stats should be up. Sash could benefit from another year in college as well but I could see him leaving, we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't know about McNutt (though there were some videos on Facebook last year at one of the guys' houses, and it was MM, A-Rob, Bernstine, and Griggs (transferred) that were in them, FWIW). But Sash is pretty tight with a lot of seniors.

with the looming collective bargaining agreement, i doubt their will be any early departures-- if your doing it for money - than it contradicts basic business sense. Plus next year we improve our record and I will believe we win the Big Ten (west) division and play in the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game.

could be an NFL lockout.

That's actually one reason why I could see McNutt leaving. If there's a lockout (likely), and the top underclassmen receivers (A.J. Green, Julio Jones, Michael Floyd, Ryan Broyles, Justin Blackmon, Jonathon Baldwin, the list REALLY keeps going on) stay in school because of it, then NEXT year's draft will be VERY loaded at WR.

See I love this but I also think of myself as a broke college kid who wants money. I know they get more if they wait...but when you were that age that was not so big of a factor. I also agree that they most likely wont leave but this year has not helped.

I just think Marvin could possibly fall in next year's draft (pending improvements), just because that WR class will be SO deep. 1st round calibur guys (in most years) will be coming off the board in the 3rd round. It looks like it could potentially be the best class at one postition EVER ('83 QB's were amazing, so were the '96 receivers, but the 2011 WR class could be better if all those guys come out for it).

I think there will be very, very few underclassmen going pro this year. With the potential NFL lockout, I don't think players will take the risk. Same goes for the NBA. There was a reason a record number of underclassmen that went pro in both sports last year; the risk of a lockout is way too high.

(Note: I personally think there is about an 80% chance that one of the two leagues sees a lockout in the fall of 2011. I think there is a 25% chance both sports lockout. I pray I am wrong.)

I agree, not many will leave early. For the most part, the ones that do will be guys that will see their draft position slide in the mass exodus of the post-lockout draft.
