Wisky game thread

It seems like in every loss Iowa has those scoring droughts that kill any hope of winning. Just frustrating that the offense can be so bad at times.

Until Fran recruits better expect more of the same. Just don't have the horses. Wisky is so disciplined and everyone on that team can shoot. Contrast that with Iowa.

I hate to say it but if Iowa doesn't start playing like it wants to win it could be a NIT year. The body language before, during and after games makes me think losses don't hurt as much as it should. Fran seems like a puppet on the court since he was reprimanded. Does Iowa ever look like it's fired up?

So...ya suppose Fran has Oglesclank in to hit the big shots to bring us back? What a.frickin dope.

Fran... every time u play that guy, u look like a complete chimp of a coach.

Key word in your shortest sentence.... those who 'invest' in sporting events know - wagering against certain teams who have too many or a few key 'dopes' and play at 1:00pm or earlier (see ISU last Sat) ... unreal profitable trend... this is known as 'easy money'

Same old story but seeing the fans sitting on their *sses with 10 min left and were only down 12. Some crowd involvement could of got a run going but I guess they just figured this team isn't capable of that. Pathetic really sums it up for this team.

The crowd's response was exactly what the team deserved. No cheers, no boos. Just silence for an overmatched, undertalented team. That's Iowa athletics.

I'll give credit to Dakich, he called the game better than I've ever heard him do in the past. I did enjoy the Dakich sucks chant from the crowd in the first half.

I've never seen a team with such an inability to make shots. Is there a rule that the men's team can't play women? Because Dixon would be a ******* godsend. Oglesby should just quit the team. He brings literally nothing of value when he's on the floor. I provide more value to the team sitting in my living room.

When the team doesn't have a fired up attitude and at least look like they'll do anything to win it trickles down to the crowd. We are a passive team.

Still reminds me a lot of a Tom Davis era team without the pressing.

-High effort but athletically limited players
-Offense can score if they can get out and run
-Very poor half court offense
-Give up way too many wide open 3s
-Completely random sub patterns
-Really struggles with the top of the B1G, even at home
-.500 conference team

Not really... Tom Davis teams could shoot and score

They just played no defense.

I missed 95% of the game, but when I flip on the TV what I see is a perfect example of what's wrong with IOWA bball.

Down 13, Gessell brings the ball down court, they leave him wide open at the 3 point line. Any other player would plant at the 3 point line and shoot. He hesitates...backs out, looks to pass.

Fran said in post-game that Mike had a hyper-extended elbow and could not shoot the three.

Tom Davis also got his teams into the NCAAs.
BINGO. And he always won in the tournament too.

We have ONE NCAA Tournament win among three different coaches since TD. Pathetic but hey, Fran's got this train rolling down the tracks.... Hahahaha. Just because Iowa isn't as bad as when Lick was here doesn't mean they're not still bad.

Davis's teams could shoot and they could rebound. But I was thinking that Fran's style reminded me of Mr. Davis's, when Barta hired him. The difference was that I thought Fran was a tireless recruiter. And he might be. Tirelessly failing to land difference making recruits.
I will add that I do NOT want to have to deal with the fact that we spent the last 15 years in purgatory only to end up with a Mr. Davis type of coach, with a Mr. Davis kind of mediocrity. That's what Mr. Davis was, once Ravelings recruits moved on.

Top 6 big 10 teams will dance. Iowa needs to be # 6. We got beat by the best team in the big 10. We are not the best team in the Big 10.
