Nebraska will likely lose again. They still have to play Northwestern, @Minny, Iowa, and Michigan St. Wisconsin could run the table after Nebraska. Unfortunately, we need to root for the Cornholes in this one.
I believe a Hawkeye B!G champion team that has any loses will not make it to the tourney. Doesn't matter how good they look, they will be over looked. A perfect Hawkeye B!G champion, on the other hand, will have a lock on a tournament birth. The odds are very slim for an undefeated Hawkeye B!G season but it is truly possible this year. The conference championship has to be winable as well. Buckyeye, Spartan, or Wolverene - Who gives the Hawks the best chance of winning should they get that far?...NW > Michigan & Iowa beats NW = Iowa > Michigan I always want the BIG west teams to do good outside of conference and division. Iowa will look stronger when we take the west. Go Hawks.

Iowa had better concentrate on Illinois, and forget about what everyone else does. I'm thinking second half against both Pitt and Wiscy. They have enough to work on.
I'm also superstitious. I was uncomfortable in 2009 also. And I am this year. I sat in the shade at Camp Randall in 2009. I did this year also. Every game I say King shouldn't be returning kicks. Every game we have won. Every game people give me funny looks after I say this.
I can see this thing going either way for the rest of the season. As a positive, there hasn't been one game where there isn't a ton to work on after reviewing game film, so hopefully this keeps the teams focused on the next game.
Should read "But I can assure you there is nothing we do as fans HERE that effects what happens on the playing field." because 70,000 fans screaming on a 3rd down in Kinnick surely has some effect on what happens there....But I can assure you there is nothing we do as fans that effects what happens on the playing field.

Do you think some of the players are on here talking about future games? I'm pretty sure we are just fans discussing the possibilities among ourselves and there is nothing wrong with that.
If you are superstitious then you do whatever makes you comfortable. But I can assure you there is nothing we do as fans that effects what happens on the playing field.
I never said players were here, I merely pointed out after two very rough halves of football, the team and coaches needed to take care of some business.
I never said being superstitious was logical.
I just made some observations, stated my concerns about several areas of the football team, and pointed out some very strange supersticions I have.
Sorry, I can't root for Nebraska. The only time I ever rooted for Iowa State is when they played Nebraska, not going to change now. I would love to see Nebraska below .500 for the year.
This would seem like a position were Iowa starts to falter. They go, start looking good then for some inexplicable reason lose to a team they have no business losing too. Illinois is just such a team. Iowa and Illinois are very close statistically, but I think that Iowa has had tougher games than Illinois. Few outsiders can appreciate what a dog fight the Iowa State game is every year. And then Pittsburgh and Wisconsin. I think Iowa should win this one easily, but they need to fix the problems. The bottom feeders in the B1G have no respect for their betters. They will bite them every chance they get.
I've never understood this thinking. I'd rather beat an undefeated NW than a 1-loss team. Iowa will look better being the first team to defeat NW. With our schedule this year, we need all the help we can get. Beating an undefeated NW on the road will be a good win.Go Hawks.
Amen, especially with all of the trashing of the West nationwide last year. I hope the West wins every game against the East from now on and the Hawks win the West.
Huh? Why? The trashing really doesn't mean anything, the results on the field do. To me it is more of a priority to win the West and be in that Big Ten Championship game so those East teams beating the West teams would help. As much as I hate saying this but Go Michigan!
We all want Iowa to win. It’s not a question of winning, it’s about gaining respectable wins. Iowa has to play the scheduled games and will gain more respect by beating higher ranked teams. NW will lose ranking if they get beat, thus lose value. Whenever you get a win, you want the opponent to be at it’s highest ranking of the season. The win will be more valuable, especially if the opponent is undefeated. Not to mention, who wants to play a PO'd NW. They’ll have a chip on their shoulder after their first loss of the season.
Go Hawks!
