WISEMAN

JC? Wiseman? Sure this shouldn't be in the off-topic forum? ;)

Do you guys think he's healthy? I still see no reason for his touches to get cut down so severely if not. He's still our best back by far, imo.

Here is the problem.

1) Is he fast enough to run Iowa's bread and butter running play? No

2) If not, have other teams figured out that you just need to worry about space between the tackles when he runs? Yes.

The combination of the above is not good.

I think most every Iowa fan would be appreciative of Mark Weisman. I am. But he's not a Big Ten caliber running back, or at least not in Iowa's outside zone scheme. I've been writing that for the last two or three weeks. The outside zones are bad for his skill set...which is bad news considering how much Iowa loves the outside zone. So that's a coaching fail.
yes, i am appreciative of anybody who goes out and gives his all for the hawks. Your right it is a coaching fail. The game plan and in game adjustments must put each individuals skill set in a position to succeed.

Wow, that's cutting edge. LAST year you, at one point, said he was as fast as anyone on the team in a ten-yard sprint and what a fortuitous discovery he was.

<<So that's a coaching fail>>

Was it a coaching fail last year when he went for 217 and 177 in consecutive games?

Good grief, Jon, you've become as fair-weather as some of the "fans" on this board.
