Wiscy showing something every body on here needs to see

They're 8-5.

and you have no clue..
beating a dead horse.. Recruiting is the biggest thing in college football, and Iowa has been correcting that.
rather than getting 12 to 14 2 "STAR" recruits each year and just 1 to 2 4 "STAR" recruit each year,
that has changed since 2010
15 4 "STAR" RECRUITS
41 3 "STAR" RECRUITS AND JUST
15 2 "STAR" RECRUITS, with 3 of those 15 being kickers. one of which is Meyer.
even this year there only 1 2 "STAR" RECRUIT, the rest are 3 "star recruits with a total of 3 4 "STAR" RECRUITS by different sites
of those 15 4"STAR" RECRUITS just 3 have left. Derby, Coker and Coe never made it..
4 others are RS'ing this season

It won't last. Iowa had good classes in 2010/2011. Which might mean a good couple years in 2014/2015. But this year and next year's (likely) lousy performances will lead to another downturn in recruiting. It's a cycle that Ferentz hasn't been able to escape, and given his approach to things, I don't see him doing anything significant to change that.

We should have hired BB when we had the chance, instead we got some guy from Maine who currently is delusional and does not live in reality.

think Iowa can't score with a good QB, look no farther back than 2008..
46-3
42-0
45-9
55-0
even in a season they 7-5 in 2005
they scored
56-0
45-21
52-28
2010 they broke the 40 mark once in that 8-5 season
45-0
Iowa has not been a sub 20 point per game team like most of you like to believe

And how did my quote get mixed into this post?

We're 4-8. What's your point?

So true, but I'm still comfortable with everything.

This. This has been a down year for Wisconsin, and they've not had many of those since 2004. Everybody still talks about Iowa and Wisconsin like they're on the same level. They're not anymore. They were in 2004, when both were vying to become the third Big Ten power. Wisky jumped all over, and Iowa let it slip away (twice, actually).

this is incoherent
even by your exceptional standards,
which is sad.

yeah like getting 4* Ekakitie, Johnson, Fleming, Ward and Garmon.. along with parade AA Hill, Smith who played this year, Ott who ended up playing. Smith who played this year, with just 5 2* recruits = a lousy recruiting year.
again you fail to pay attention..
this class is pretty good to
Young a 4 "STAR" ON 247 who uses Max Preps who has been grading preps since the 80's
Weisinski a 4 "STAR" on ESPN
Hill a 4 "STAR" on every site but ESPN
espn has 5 that are graded a 79 3* just below a 80 grade 4 "STAR".. Iowa's class ranking is low because they only have 15 commts..
if you are going blast the recruiting try doing some work before shooting off your mouth

Ah hell, I'll try...

2008 - The first three games on that list were to an FCS school, a bad Sun Belt (?) team, and a horribad Indiana team. Minnesota was halfway decent, but we ran roughshod through them.

2005 - Are you still continuing the "good QB" argument here? Because you are flat wrong if you are...Tate was better in 2005 than he was in 2004. Again though, bad MAC team, FCS school, and an average Minnesota team.

2010 - Bottom half MAC team referenced.

Wisconsin just scored 70 points in the B1G title game...I didn't think this thread was about who could score big on Hapless U.

Hey, lets cherry pick a player's star grade from whichever site gives him the highest! That will be a credible argument.

Rivals, which is the most-relied on source for fans keeping up with recruiting, has just Hill as a 4-star. The rest are 3-stars. It would be a solid, but not spectacular class. But that's also assuming they all sign the dotted line, which is hardly a given at this point.

Also, I said nothing about this year's crop of freshmen. If you're going to post, try improving your reading comprehension before shooting off your mouth.

I don't give a rip about stars anymore...I just want fast 40 times and good sized guys...the past few years we've been battling it out with MAC teams for recruits, not other BCS conference teams...granted some are decent, but Iowa needs to stop getting butthurt over a great athlete checking out other schools, telling him to take a hike and going after Option B who was hoping to get an offer so he didn't have to wind up at Western Michigan or Tulane...

Edit: By the way, I think B. Ferentz and Co. have the recruiting trending back up...but it's still not where we'd like it to get to.

Bingo. Hell, give us 30 against Northwestern and Minny in 2010 and 30 against Minny last year [and 30 isn't as big of a number as it used to be], then we're entering this year coming off of 9-3 and 8-4 seasons. Iowa has problems scoring, and it's not all going to get fixed by replenishing the roster. Hell, in that 2010 NW game (the 21-17 loss), we had a good QB, the school's best (statistical) receiving tandem, and everyone was healthy at that point except Gettis.

If anything (contrary to OP's point), this game should show Iowa fans that you don't need Oregon's speed to innovate. Innovation can come within a smash-mouth framework.

95% of the Posters were predicting anywhere from 5-7 at WORST to 7-5 at best, because of all the 1st time starters and all the coaching changes.
but as the season progressed you could have swore by the way people were going nuts after every loss, that they had predicted a BT Title and NT

Our offense, which originally was projected as the strength of our team with a 5th year SR QB, was downright pathetic. It literally hurt to watch. If you were too busy researching and memorizing 19 year old prospects measurables to read Jon's articles, I'll sum it up for you: We were one of the worst offenses in college football. I'm far from thinking we need an Oregon offense, but the melding of GD and KF offensive philosophies obviously didn't work and needs ironed out to avoid another insult that was this football season.

I'm sorry Herby but if you can't understand why people went nuts after watching our team go 4-8 in that ball of fluff they called our schedule, then may God have mercy on your soul.

its amazing what a healthy OL and a solid group of RB's can do.
they don't use gimmick plays nor do they use a spread offense, and they use a PP for a QB
3:35 left in the 3rd Quarter 550 total yards of which 449 are on the ground

Were you even paying attention? I watched them run the wildcat several times in the red zone and that 3rd an 3 or so where the qb and center lined up on the completely opposite side of the field from the rest of the line. None of that is traditional or conservative not to mention a ton of misdirection stuff I saw.

Then on defense half the time the D line didn't even line up except for the ends. They just walked around till the ball was snapped and demolished Nebby's O-line. I think they ran more gimmicky stuff than they did traditional.

IMO and i'm no football expert, but a ton of plays looked like crazy stuff compared to what Iowa runs. Wisconsin had Neb guessing all night, all this with 2 new OC's this year, and the current guy walked in mid season. If anything this game proves how bad KF and GD are.

^I wonder what kind of thoughts were going through KF's Neanderthal/football mind as he watched Wisconsin play?
