Wisconsin

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why Ayala is struggling so much at 133. His ranked opponents look thicker and stronger, and he still looks relatively thin, doesn't have thick thighs or chest...I can't figure out where his weight is! I wonder if it's out of the question for him to consider moving back down to 125, cause this ain't workin'. Hard to imagine him even ending up an All American (Top 8) at 133.

Block came out looking like gangbusters, but by the end of the 2nd period you could tell he was getting gassed. Coming after the xmas and New Year's break, that doesn't concern me too much. He just needs to get his weight under control again and he should be fine...he's fun and exciting to watch, for sure! I have no doubt he'll beat that guy the next time they see each other.

I don't understand Keuter. He's quicker and faster than his opponent, and yet he literally didn't make a single offensive move the entire 7-minute match. Not. One. WTF? He has literally NO confidence in his offense.

Williams was darn lucky he didn't lose at 157 too. Turn those two matches around, and Wisky actually could have won that meet.
Well, it wasnt pretty, I think Ayala got rob.
I don't know -- he held on for the entire 5 count; I wasn't clear if the other point was for locking hands or the escape. The refs never explained. Terrible decision to put himself in that situation, tho.

We can make excuses, but Block wasn't the only one that had gas tank issues. Ludington was gassed midway through the 2nd.

When was the last time we've seen a PSU wrestler gassed, or even Nebraska or OSU (x2), for that matter?

With his lower weight and length, Kueter's only chance at being a true contender is learning how to win with quickness and explosiveness, but, yet, he seems content to do the "fat boy" dance even though he's not a fat boy. I've posted it before, but he should be watching tape of Schopp, Wick, Lizak, etc., to learn how to take advantage of that length on top.

Tom preaches all the time about the importance of "being ready" and "being aggressive" and "scoring points." He should., that's Iowa wrestling. But, other than Caliendo and Kennedy, we're not seeing it, and, frankly, have been seeing it less and less for the past 2-4 years.

I think it's time to accept the fact that the aura and prestige is dying a slow death. It's sad, but it is what it is.
