Wisconsin may go one and done agian at QB

If Christ transfers I will be back at this time next year when he has a solid year. The guys a talent. To argue otherwise is ridiculous.

'Talent' only gets you so far. You have to produce on the field and he hasn't. Just because he had starts next to his name and hype coming out of high school does not mean that he is good. He has proven on the field that he is not that good. He couldn't perform well against South Florida at home. The guy is an average QB at best. To argue otherwise is ridiculous.

If the Badgers sign Christ then yeah they'll win it all. I mean that guy can walk on water and throw the 400 yard deep out.

Dude Crist is not that good. Will have a solid year, yes, because of the team he will be on. Will he deliver like Wilson did? No way.

Fortunately Christ burned up his eligibility and is now playing for the Denver Broncos.

I hope Crist does transfer to Wisconsin.

I guess we're looking at different ND games then. From what I've seen, he is the absolute antithesis of a gamer. He plays like he's terrified to make a mistake. He has caused nothing but heartache for ND. His fumble against USC, inside their 5, was one of the worst plays I have ever seen.

I watch Iowa and ND with an ND fan most weeks. The comparison that kept coming up was Jake Christensen. "He should be good, just give him time," slowly becomes, "what you see is what you get."

He was highly recruited coming out of high school, and based on the number of chances that ND gave him, I would imagine he plays pretty well in practice. But he has performed terribly under pressure, which is to say, in basically every game situation he's been in.

Have you seen Tommy Rees play? He's not exactly Joe Montana, so the fact that they went with him all year over Crist tells me all I need to know.

He has been third string since the USC game.

I watched pretty much every Notre Dame game this year. When Crist was in he was less than good and Notre Dame has some pretty good receivers including one of the best in not the best in the country. QB play is probably what kept Notre Dame from being undefeated really.

Did I say that he would win it all? No. But let's be honest, Wisconsin is very QB friendly. They run the ball, they have great line play, and have TE's to throw to every year. He can go in there and play well enough for them to Win 10 games again.

They only won 10 games with Wilson this year. Crist is not as good of a passer as Wilson and can't run. heck Wisky should have lost to MSU in the B10 championship game this year but Wilson made spectacular plays, with his legs and arm. Crist can't really do either, especially with his legs. He's over hyped and you are blind to it.

Every game huh? Crist played in the first half of the 1st game of the year and has been benched ever since.

He has gotten spare playing time since and has gone 8 for 9 since. He's a good QB who IMO got a raw deal under Kelly. A coach I really like but was being too emotional.

The year before when he was the starting QB he was starting for a brand new coach. It happens. A fresh start, with his talent, and he has plenty of it, will do wonders

I'm the ND expert, bug off :). Crist is a good QB. He has the arm, accuracy, and just enough athleticism to get out of trouble. People like to harp on him as a mental midget, and it's absolutely false, though I will admit he gets timid when the coach looks like he's going to blow a gasket. That may not happen in Wisc; I don't know the tempermant Biels has with his QBs. A mental midget wouldn't be able to come back from the injuries he has had or the benching like he has. The problem with Crist is that he is the unluckiest QB in college right now. First he sat behind Claussen for two years, then last year he gets hurt, BK changes the offensive strategy, the defense stiffens up and Rees looks like a hero. This year in the first game, he drives the team down on the first drive and Jonas Gray fumbles on the one, USF scores, and the team is deflated. Rees comes in at half, the team realizes they should be killing USF and they mount a comeback. Rees looks like a hero. Then in the USC game, Crist drives them down and then fumbles inside the five and USC scores, deflating the team.

Crist was not the 3rd string QB based on talent, knowledge of the offense, or the game was too much. BK just enjoyed being able to berate Rees, and wanted Hendrix in so he could run his spread option. There's not going to be a drop off in QB play next year if Wisc if Crist is there.

I never claimed he started every game huh?

Yeah, and that's because he wasn't good in that first half and then the times he came in after he wasn't good then either.

That's false.

Crist is a good QB. IF and that's IF, he transfers to Wisconsin that is not good for Big 10 teams.

I hate Beleima but he's a good coach. If he takes Crist on, I"m guessing he's a better judge of talent than you

Cut the authoritative fallacy ******** out please. I bet Brian Kelly is a better judge of talent than you. I could do that too.

Maybe it's a publicity thing. Ooooh The Quarterback Of Notre Dame, NOTRE DAME likes Wisconsin better than (wait) NOTRE DAME!!!! There must be something special about Wisconsin!!

Crist doesn't suck as much as others have mentioned, but to think there will be no drop off between him and Wilson is a joke. Wilson would have been a top 10 national QB no matter who he played for. Crist had trouble staying on the field for his team.

Do the freaking math...

This will turn recruits a different direction. If high school QBs see this happen again, they won't wanna go there if they are just going to get replaced.

Which is why Bart Houston might have some thinking to do, should this come to pass soon..

Houston seems to be their only viable option (If they've been desperate for outside help the last 2 years now) going forward.. sounds like they want Crist to bridge one year for the kid to get used to the system..

That's betting big.. but it just sounds like they consider it their only option.. a couple bad years would lose the momentum they think they have.

How bad is Wisconsin's QB situation to go after another transfer?! If I'm a QB on that team right now I'm transferring because coach BB shows no confidence in his current QBs and how do HS QB recruits feel like they will just get replaced by a one and done transfer every year. Bielema must have done an awful job recruiting the QB position.

This isn't Wilson, Crist is a pocket passer. Heck, he was 3rd string at Notre Dame! Bielema is looking to get anybody at QB he can because who he has is awful and he knows it so wants to avoid a bad season by getting Crist. Problem is Crist won't beat teams like Wilson did. Think this is going to backfire next season for Badgers. They lose a lot of skill players.

I was under the distinct impression that the NCAA had changed the whole ''graduate and transfer to another school and play immediately'' rule and that Wilson was the last of those who will be able to do that.

I know I heard that. Maybe the NCAA backed off,but I wonder. I think he will have to sit a year, then play at Wisky.

I believe it's just the SEC who did away with it after Massoli to Ole Miss. Ironic, isn't it?

Well good news on this front. CBS is reporting that Charlie Weis and Kansas have just offered Crist. Gotta believe he won't turn that down. Weis recruited him to ND if I'm not mistaken.
