Put Petras on a team with a good qb coach and a true OC and he would flourish. Do you think if he were at Purdue or Northwestern that he wouldn’t pick us apart?
Throwing the ball hard [and quickly] even if a few split-seconds, cuts down on interceptions and gives the receiver extra time to analyze his first move after the catch, but yeah, he should put some touch on some passes. Receivers: don't bitch. Be ready to catch the ball in your face the instant you turn and be grateful for the extra time to make your first decision. It's a blessing most of the time.He doesn't have the accuracy to pick anyone apart. Until he learns to not throw everything 100mph and not overthrow guys half the time he's not going to scare anyone.
Or blocked. Or called plays for that matterDidn’t realize Petras played on defense...
That is the $64k question in regards to these kind of debates right there I think. Is that indeed the case... I lean towards yes more so then no at this point...Somehow I have a feeling that if Wilson was at Iowa and Petras was at BYU, that each team would be doing about the same as they are right now.

Brett Farve threw fastballs. The MSU qb that just tire up Mich has more zip on the ball than Petras.Throwing the ball hard [and quickly] even if a few split-seconds, cuts down on interceptions and gives the receiver extra time to analyze his first move after the catch, but yeah, he should put some touch on some passes. Amen! I was taught that if you can touch it, you should catch it.Brett Farve threw fastballs. The MSU qb that just tire up Mich has more zip on the ball than Petras.
Dare I say it, but our second tier relievers (anyone not named Marsette, LaPorta, or Smith) don't run great routes to the sticks or spots in zones, and don't turn their bodies to get the ball.
If it is within reach, you catch it. If you are good.
Since when has this staff ever recruited well?Is it true we could have had him but chose Petras? If true that ranks right up there with the decisions to start Christianson over Stanzi and McCann over Banks
