Will Wisky now be 1-2 when they hit Kinnick

I expected Wisky to be 1-2 or 0-3 when they jogged onto the Kinnick turf. Their win on the road against a top eastern div opponent was unexpected. But now Mich St's win at Notre Dame is not so outstanding so maybe. But I especially hate seeing our main competition winning any game on the road.

But if Michigan and the Bucks are for real I still see Wisky having 2 losses when they face Iowa.

Main thing is the hawks need to win these next 3 games even by one point each and they can take on Wisky with a 2 game lead in the standings.

Any of you see Wisky beating Mich or Ohio St or both?

I don't want to take anything away from Wisconsin. They actually remind me quite a bit of Iowa last year and right now look like the best in the West.

But Michigan is the B1G's worst nightmare. A very physical B1G style team that happens to be very talented and a coach who is way ahead of his college counterparts.

OSU is like a PAC12 or SEC team in terms of its overall talent and they have a great coach who utilizes his talent very well.

I just don't see Wisconsin winning those games. Maybe if Michigan was a home game, but on the road will be very tough and Ohio St is hard to beat anywhere and CR won't intimidate them in the least.

I truly have no idea how good Wisc is. Their defense looks very good. They have 7 takeaways in the 2 wins over LSU and MSU. And 4 of those have been either been returned for TDS or have given drives starting inside the opponent 30. Resulting in 28 points. That's huge.

Hawks need to get better and win next week...go from there.

Not sure how this plays out.

But if we had wins against MSU/LSU . . . instead of MACtastic/Sucklones/Rutters - every thread on this board would be mentioning a national championship.

Having said all that Wisky has been impressive against Ohio State - I only mention that cuz I think we've beaten them ONCE IN THE LAST 25 YEARS!

Wisky's size and power have always matched up better against OSU that Iowa has. I think it was Wisky who knocked OSU out of the Big 10 title hunt in 1981 and then OSU beat Michigan to open the way for Iowa to the Rose Bowl.

Wisky does give OSU fits.

I predict Ohio St wins the Big 10 undefeated, makes the final 4, but loses to someone like Lousiville, Clemson or Bama.

I really do think we are not in the same league as OSU, Michigan, Wisky and probably MSU & Nebby.

Watching a quarter of Michigan v PSU and just looking at Michigan's OL from a size and physicality stand point I could not help but think we have a junior varsity OL outside of Daniels. It's becoming clear to me how weak we really are and last year was an incredible feat to win 12 with a 6-6 caliber team. I am shocked how much we have slipped from a strength and conditioning standpoint. A lot of our guys do not pass the eye test. It's no wonder we struggle so much.

Wisky will lose both games.

Why is it Wisky can plug in a freshman QB and doesn't need games to "develop" him and drills #8 team on the road by scoring 30.

Iowa can't plug in speed receivers who apparently can't run routes and with a SR. QB score 1/2 that many points against a B1G bottom feeder.

The "developmental" mantra seems like an excuse more than ever with Iowa returning so many key players.

Wisky has LSU and MSU wins to brag about.

Iowa has "any win in college football is tough to get -- especially on the road."

ISU and Rutgers doesn't give any weight to that Ferentz claim.

Paul Chryst of Wisconsin doesn't talk much or loud. But that coach and his team ... those guys carry a big stick

Wisky can use a freshman QB because they have a better QB coach and a head coach who is unafraid and has confidence in his system and his players. KF is so against errors that he is conservative which makes it so they cant make or afford a mistake, which puts pressure on the players.

That's probably what's wrong with CJ. He's so afraid to make a mistake because our back up QB is breathing down his neck. ???? KF needs to let go of the leash and let these kids play. A fumble or an INT is going to happen every now and then anyway. Nobody is perfect.

If our margin is so thin that a single mistake or error means defeat then it only goes to prove we lack talent in the first place.

Perhaps now...we look back and realize that our inflated notion of MSU was based in a large part on their win and points scored in South Bend. We have seen that ND's defense is very suspect. Today they fired their DC.

And layered beneath that was Wisconsin's win against LSU - a team that has no offense to speak. So the notiion that Wisconsin's D is so great may be exagerated

While Wisky is Wisky, they're still Wisky. They'll be salty as always but maybe not way way over Iowas head - and I must add the caveat that Iowa will have to get its OLine blocking better and the DLine issues must be resolved.

I also heard from people who know people in East Lansing that the team and players are pretty distracted with Black Lives Matter and recent events.

I don't think our margin for error is that bad. I just think KF is such a stickler on fundamentals it clogs his brain at times. This team is so serious and they look like they aren't having any fun and there's no energy. Imo KF has put way to much pressure on this team to be perfect. Listen to all his political correct speaches. It's like fingernails on a chalk board!!!!! Just wish he'd lighten up and go out on a limb and tell everybody the Hawks are pretty good or something to that effect. Sheeesh he's always afraid to say anything good about them.

I wanna show you something I typed up a couple days ago in response to a different person in a different thread. I didn't post it cuz I didn't want to deal with the backlash. But now I will . . .

Remember Morris as a true freshman Linebacker? The coaches and fans both thought he would be a two-time all-american by the time he left. He was good but never progressed like we thought.

Remember QBs who won less often the more time they had in the system?

Kirk kills a lot of the fun. He puts a straight-jacket on these kids and tells them they must make fewer mistakes. Now maybe they make fewer mistakes as they mature, but they also become more risk-averse. The kids listen less to their instincts and pay more attention to obeying protocols to avoid losing their starting spot.

IMO, the biggest reason Iowa went 12-0 last year was because we were something like a plus 14 on turnovers. You guys talk about avoiding mistakes like its a bad thing.
