Will we finally see a 1,000 yard receiver?

It seems it has been forever since Iowa has had a thousand yard receiver. Is this the year we finally get one (or more)? Through 4 games:

McNutt: 25 catches, 413 yards, 4TD
Davis: 19 catches, 286 yards, 3 TD
Martin-Manley: 12 catches, 159 yards, 3 TD

Depending on how many games Iowa plays this year, could we see multiple 1,000 yard receivers in McNutt and Davis this year?

The best part is opposing defenses can't really double up on anyone cuz the Hawks have 3 gamebreakers at WR! I bet JVB havin a blast right now!!!!!

McNutt on pace for 1239 through 12 games. 1342 through 13 games.

I think McNutt will be mid 1000's to low 1100's. Cause a lot of that pace came from the past two weeks.

Davis should sniff out 800, but I can't imagine much higher.

Probably. I REALLY like these three together. McNutter dominated today. Just the ability to throw it up to him, he makes his defender look like he's in HS. If Vandy can get the attempts this year these four together will carry our D and win games...

It will be interesting to see when we get our TE's involved, how this effects our offense. Also, Bullock is suppose to be an excellent receiver. Could he be used on a wheel route, or a delayed release pattern to keep the LB's and Safeties honest.

I believe the Iowa record for yards catching in a season is 1080 or something...set in 79 by Keith Chappelle. It appears to be in reach.

If he can avoid injury, I think McNutt does it. However, Iowa had 8 different guys with catches today. If they keep that up, they are going to be very hard to defend.

I want McNutt to get DJK's reception mark also. I believe he needed 84. I think it's possible.

That's not gonna happen. McNutt needs 61 catches to break the record, meaning he needs to average over 7 catches per game the rest of the way. He's averaging less than that right now, when he's been going against weaker competition.

He'll get the yardage and TD records, but I think receptions is one record that is simply out of reach for him.

1000 is a good goal to shoot for. i think his pace will slow down when Big 10 play starts, not necessarily because of weaker competition, but more conservative play calling.

what's the single season TD record? i predict he'll smash that record, whatever it is.

Mo Brown has at least a share of it with 11. Not sure who he might share it with, but I seem to remember that he doesn't hold it outright. McNutt has a good chance to go after that record, I agree.
