If we don't get a bye, we have very little chance (if any at all) to get the record. We can only lose 5 games, and that's assuming a national championship while tying the record, not breaking it.

Not quite following your math.
6 NCAA wins = 21.
Consider 2 BTT wins = 21 + 2 = 23.
Consider winning only 7 of remaining league games = 23 + 7 = 30.

My bad, I included Iowa's losses twice. Still, falling out of the top four would probably mean another 5 losses in conference, meaning we'd have to win 7 games in a one and done format to tie the record. Those are long odds. If we go 14-4 conference or better, then it's a real possibility, IMO.
I love this kind of thinking. The players need to take it one game at a time. Fans can dream all they want. It won't affect the outcome at all.
So funny how people come on a message board and try to shoot down topics of discussion by saying "take one game at a time". I guess this boars should be full of threads talking about the Michigan game only.

Yep, I'm a fan and can dream.
Trying to tie-in a bit of history to this year's model is all. It's fun to think about after all these years.
I think we can go 14-4 in conf, puts us @ 25 wins. Two wins in BTT ups it to 27. Have to make final four to get to 31.
Doable. Fun to dream.

2 more losses in conference play would help a lot. Much better chance to tie than beat this record. We could certainly win the btt

This is one of my pet peeves the people that come on here and tell us what we should not be discussing and try to shut down threads. I wonder why those people ever log into a message board in the first place or open up certain threads. If all they want to do is discuss the next game then just open those threads that discuss them.

So your saying I should have waited until after the Michigan game before focusing on what beer I will have on Saturday against NW? Hopefully my lack of focus and looking ahead doesn't hurt the team since I'm not around them or have any contact with them.
Stop with this nonsense. We have regular season Big Ten games to play. There can't be discussion on any future events. You must concentrate on the upcoming game and not look ahead. C'mon man, have focus.
