Yes that's the mindset that gets people to see things your way

Again, I contend, if you root against your own team just for a coaching change, you ARE NOT a fan of said team.
...when you've got Gutless Gary running things, accountability is never going to be a priority. Some people feel that utter failure is the only hope of cleaning house. Not my personal avenue to take on the matter but I can see the reasoning.

Not an answer to my question, but I would agree. I would rather see bonuses kick in a little higher in the win column.
There shouldn't be any bonuses for wins. Period. That's what he's hired to do. Give bonuses for BIG West, BIG conference and National titles. Wins are an expectation of the position. Nobody in the history of the planet has even hired a coach with the expectation that said coach will lose games. Why provide bonus incentives for wins?

Nick Saban gets a bonus just for showing up for work.

No argument on Gary, he's by far the biggest problem with Iowa athletics.

But that makes my point even stronger. Why hope for KF's failure when Barta is the person who is more than likely going to be selecting his replacement?

No doubt. I don't want that Gutless POS making another major hire, if I have my way.

The bonus stuff is dumb too, but performance based incentives are nothing new to football or exclusive to KF.

...good for Nick Saban.
Dantonio is set to make $700k in bonus if he is the coach next July. They currently have the same record as Iowa.

KF's bonus is not really a performance bonus. It is a retention bonus with strings attached - why? Because of 4 and 8.

Indirectly it is the answer (in agreement with you).

The "less" would be.... less in incentives. Specifically, a much higher performance than 7 wins to receive a bonus. 10 wins is bonus material. A division championship or conference championship is bonus material. I would even add bowl games...even though that's more a function of B1G money and it only takes 6 wins to get there.

He's one of the nation's most accomplished coaches with 4 big 10 coach of the year awards. He earns all the provisions that are in his contract him in compensation for his service to the University of Iowa.
