Will OSU be out for blood after 2017 game?

Just watched the 2017 replay while watching the news and I wondered if OSU will be hunting for more than a win but supreme revenge. I know Urban is gone, most of the players are gone from that game, but iirc Iowa hung the worst point differential in OSU history on them. Think about that for a bit where OSU has faced great opponents in bowl games, in conf play, and in major non-conf matchups over the years. I think their fans will bring it up and stoke the revenge. I am sure Coach Day and the players will underplay the 2017 game but quietly want blood.

The hawks should have a pretty good team but as you know the horseshoe has been our Big house of horrors. How do you think OSU will handle it, trying to totally embarrass the hawks or more straight up and wary of us?

I hope they are embarrassed by getting owned by Iowa. It will make it even more fun to beat them in the Horseshoe next fall. Was there for our OT loss. Damn near got them!

We won by 31 and Clemson also beat them 31-0 in the CFP a few years ago. If we have a QB and the middle of the o-line is shored up, barring injury, we have a puncher's chance in that game despite what the media pundits will say. IIRC we haven't won at C-bus bince the day after that Gang Lu shooting in Iowa City. In the back of his mind, Ferentz probably has a burning desire to beat them at home because that is the only thing Hayden managed to do that Ferentz hasn't done. I guarandamntee you he has that game circled already and will bring a game plan the likes of which the world has never seen. I'll bet O'Keefe and Brian are tossing back Busch Lattes right now thinking about plays.

I say we still need to avenge all those Terry Stross drops in the shoe.

Maybe. But most of the roster from that game will be gone. OSU is always a tough game.
His name Terry?

The missed chip shot field goal didn't help either.

Oh yes, that game was full of ebbs and flows, full of big positive and negative plays.

In the end I and many hawk fans thought that after DJKs great return and the the next TD drive with Mcnutt I think catching the TD to tie the game the hawks had the momentum. And then when Tressel and OSU went somewhat conservative and left the hawks with :45 seconds at about the hawk 35 yard line many of us thought 'hey your on the road against a top team with a chance to steal this game away from them so go for it'. But then KFs conservatism crept in.

A big lost opportunity for the program to lose after Stanzi's injury but then comeback and win at OSU and I think tie for the Conf title.

Can you imagine the bedlam if at the end of regulation in 2009 the hawks had hit a few passes and kicked a game winning field goal. The Iowa team and fans at the horseshoe would have gone crazy as would all the fans watching and listening. And another Title would have been huge

Just for clarification purposes, the loss we gave OSU tied for the largest loss by an Urban Meyer coached team and was the most points an Urban Meyer coached team had ever given up.

But it wasn't the largest loss ever by OSU. That honor belongs to the 1994 PSU team that beat them 63-14. But that PSU team basically beat everyone by that score that year. Although the Hawks gave them a slightly better game than OSU did....losing 61-21.

That would also be the PSU team that should have had "at least a share" of the MNC with another team who's name shall not be spoken.

Tough call with JVB starting that game. Guys like KF and Tressel were throwbacks to a more civilized time in football, when teams didn't try to steal a score in the last 90 seconds of a half and coaches were content going to OT and letting it play out that way. Now everything is "press press press." That OSU-Iowa game in '09 was just a damned fine college football game irregardless of the outcome.

I think 2018 Clemson had a historically good football team given what they had on offense and that stacked d-line. Me and this dude were talking about the historically great teams and '94 PSU was mentioned, as were some of those old Miami and FSU teams, etc. One team that was never mentioned was 'Braska. Because any objective football fan knows that the teams weren't historically great. You look at the stars or decent NFL contributors off of some of the really good teams and then you look at 'Braska's NFL guys and it is pretty clear 'Braska ain't as good as they think. They just ran that option really, really well. '97 Michigan and '94 PSU both would have shit trucked 'Braska those years.
