will McCall carry this week?

I would give him a shot early on. Yes he coughed it up last week, but he sat the rest of the game also. I think KF works it kinda like that, if you cough it up, its back to practice and try it again next week. What do you think?

I think he does, and I think he will do ok. I think he gets 3-5 carries this week.

How many games has he officially played in now? If this week were to make it three he should definitely get a look. Then, at the end of the game he should go down in a blaze of glory by crossing the goal line on a game winning 93 yard touchdown run where he is tripped up crossing the line. He limps off the field with a minor, but season ending injury preventing him from playing in the bowl game. Having only played in 3 games he would still likely be eligible for medical hardship redshirt. He would have also solidified in all Hawk fans minds that he is the second coming of Jesus and anything short of a record breaking season the following year is a failure of his ablility to play hard coupled with a failure of our coaching staff to properly use talent.

The Perfect Storm.

This has been covered ad nauseam on this site, but here goes anyway. If a player plays in any game after the halfway point of the season then the medical hardship is off the table. He did, it is. He possibly had a chance before they put him in on Saturday. Now that chance is exactly 0%.

If you were just trolling then consider me duped, and you win poe.

I bet Mccall gets some carries in the game. Hes a good player, just because he put it on the ground last week doesnt mean just put him on the shelf. Hes a good change of pace from Coker. Coker will get the majority, but Mccall will get a few carries.

nope KF just completely wasted a year of him...

I doubt if you were to ask McCall he would consider this a "wasted" year. There have been many times when players have been injured and come back to play later in the season. Kirk certainly didnt cause McCall to fumble that ball. McCall fumbled on his second carry of the game. Many freshman would be sat for this. McCall will be a very good back for us and we will have him three additional years. Lets enjoy it!

He will get carries. Ferentz has probably heard enough about his mistake last week and will put the kid in during the 3rd or 4th series of the game. He will likely call three pass plays though just to stick it in our ***.

I would bet he would see some time. And for the last time, no one knows 100% that we would have gotten the medical redshirt anyway. Plus, when is the last time Iowa has had a running back for 4 years? Hardly, any. I know Jon, touched on that on Soundoff. Let it die. If he plays, he plays. If he doesn't, it's probably because our #1 running back, who happens to be 7th in the nation in rushing with just under 1300 yards, is having a good day.

I would disagree...

Coker does not need to be spelled. Give him the ball 50 times if possible, and call it a day.

Coker lacked the burst and punishment on his runs in the fourth quarter that he had to start the game. The carries are taking a toll, but don't blame Iowa for not putting McCall back in after the early fumble.

Would hope they put McCall back out there for a series in the first half Saturday. If he holds on to the ball, give him another series in the second half. McCall is talented.

I agree. They need 1-2 series a game where they give Coker a break.
