No, it will not be on the BTN because there was a problem with the feed from Iowa City, so there is no video to replay. Not sure this is the BTN's fault.

Maybe someone can enlighten me. I didn't expect the Iowa spring game to be shown live but the guide on my cable station doesn't show the spring game being shown at all. I can only go forward one week but it looked to me that the other teams appeared to show their games soon after they played. Is this Big Ten bias or am I off base? Any input would be very much apprciated. Tia.
Who cares? Do the coaches, players, SID really need the distractions? I'd much rather have them all focusing on workouts, training, strategy and projecting a positive image than all the broadcast preparations, interviews and scheduling demands of TV.
Send all the weird vibes they want ... just enclose them along with that $30 million check.
What do you mean who cares? Why wouldn’t any hawkeye fan wanna watch the spring game? If replays of the spring game are large distractions for the players we have bigger problems.

The very thing I wondered about when BTN first appeared is coming home to roost. "Classic" games/programs are revolving around O$U and Michigan. Summers are filled with the excitement of women's softball reruns, plus O$U and Michigan. An "Iowa Day" gives us games like 2007 vs. MSU (certainly a high-water mark for any Hawk fan...) and the oft-shown 2002 vs. Purdue. Those games appear ONE TIME on those days, with maybe one of them being shown a second time at 3am.
Then of course, there's always a replay or program featuring O$U or Michigan.
It's gotten even better now that we can call Tom Osborne a Big Ten icon...and of course, there has never been a better Big Ten defensive lineman than N'Damakhong Souououh...or however it's spelled.
Then again, we'll always have access to 1969 and 1973 O$U vs. Michigan. And who can forget the unforgettable "Tiebreaker"?
In short, most B1G fans better get used to learning a ton of stuff about O$U. It wouldn't hurt to brush up Michigan lore, either.
They are running a business and their goal is to make money. Does it really make sense to have equal programming for all 12, or soon to be 14, schools?
There are about 8 schools that should be thankful that all B1G schools get an equal cut of the revenue from BTN.
So they were planning to televise it and play the replays before the "technical difficulties" happened? Because I was looking through the future programing before I left that Friday to go to it to see if I could DVR it then and it wasn't on it anywhere then. I don't think they had any intentions of airing it. Were there any other schools they didn't air either? No, it will not be on the BTN because there was a problem with the feed from Iowa City, so there is no video to replay. I like BTN. I watch it a lot. I presume that this snafu was not done on purpose...but I still would love to get some kind of insight into how they determine their programming schedule. Clearly, it seems that they are limited to how many different games they can show for some reason. There is simply no way that they get better ratings, even showing classic OSU games, when they feature them dozens of times...over the years. Why not constantly freshen the schedule with more recent offerings, and more offerings for more schools? At some point even MSU fans have to get tired of watching their spring game dozens of times, right?

It will not be shown but that is not the reason. Does anybody really think that the BTN is so incompetent that they can't take a camera and digitally record the game? This is 2014. I could take 100 bucks to Wal Mart and get what it takes to record the game. They didn't want to show the game and lied to us instead of telling us the truth.
And if I'm wrong, and the BTN is actually so stupid that they couldn't point a camera and record it for playback...then there are a lot of people at the network who need to be fired immediately...but that's not the case.
If the point is to feature O$U, mission accomplished.
But for folks who went crazy for the formation of BTN, they should have known it wasn't going to be any better, in most respects, than ESecPN. Fact.
Personally, I like BTN. But I am also under no illusion that it is anything more than a "sports network", and "sports networks" pretty much cater to Flavor-of-the-Month/Moment. In my entire history as a Hawkeye fan, rarely has Iowa been THE Flavor-of-the-Month/Moment. Certainly been mentioned week-to-week, but never "The Big Story" beyond a week or two.
Since when is OSU or Michigan a "flavor of the month/moment"? Those programs are like chocolate and strawberry ice cream from a business perspective. Classics that never get old.
All I know is they said the feed didn't work..that's two years in a row. Maybe they are covering their butts.
They should have contingency plans, at the least. Record the freaking thing with the camera sets ups you have in place..there is a control room in Kinnick that can handle a simple three or four camera set up. A senior in R/T school could direct it.
