We're in. Only one more loss this season - all the games left are easy locks. We win 1 or 2 in BIG Tourney. I hope next year we don't schedule all the panzy games to start the year. We would of been a lock from early on with a normal schedule.

Illinois is an easy lock? Hello?

Illinois is an easy lock? Hello?

First at 15, you do you even know who the Mod Squad is?

2nd, put your fan hat down a minute and explain without insults how IL beating PSU and Nebby at home doesn't get them in the dance even if they lose the rest?

Can't wait to hear that one. Bet you can't not use the word troll in your immature description.

No I don't think so, I think we're going to need to beat IU or win 3 in the B10 tournament to get in.

So is this including winning the other 4 games left on the schedule as well as Indiana? If Iowa wins out they would be 22-9 and then three wins in the B1G tourney would make them 25-9.

My gut is telling me we get in because the big is tough, but my answer is no. We're nitting again. ****** thing is that we beat the clowns by ten and because they play in a dog crap conference and get dog crap wins they get in.

They actually have a better SOS than we do.

It's an either or, not both. If we win at Indiana and win 3 out of the other 4 B10 games I think we'll get in, or else I think we need to win 3 in the BTT, it's not about total wins, I just don't see our RPI getting up high enough without a huge win.

Look back at the post he replied to. hfl9 was referring to the Illinois game as an automatic win for us. Obviously Illinois is a lock for the tournament, but he wasn't talking about that.

ILHawk is an Illini troll, he can't be bothered with rational thought.

Well time to schedule it up a bit. As we get better let's schedule a bit better too. Don't start adding duke quite yet but step it up a little if this is holding us back.

I'm starting to feel a bit more pessimistic about our chances. I have been thinking that 10-8 gets us in for for sure but the more I read, the less I think that's the case. I am starting to think we need to get to 10-8 AND win 2 games in the B1G tournament.

Winner

I'm on the fence. But I am tired of the conference strength argument. You play who you play, that's they way it is. As much as the conference has been a dog in football, it's nice to be tough in basketball.

My dyslexia in the way.

Gotta feeling the IL game is going to be a blow out. Not sure which way though.

Minny is fading. That leaves Illinois. If Iowa goes 10-8, that means they beat Illinois or number 1 Indiana. That would put Iowa squarely as the 6th Big Ten Team and having gone on a nice streak at the end of the season.

I really don't think the tournament committee is going to want to stop at 5 B10 teams if there is another team with an over .500 record in conference, particularly when the sixth team would have ended the season so strong, and with at least one pretty strong late season win.

Now, this is all in reference to the Iowa going 4-1 and not getting in argument. The only way I see that happening is if the Illini get hot and go 4-1, which would require them beating 2 out of 3 of UM, OSU, and Iowa all ON THE ROAD. If the Illini can do that, they deserve the bid hands down.

What do I think is most likely? Iowa and Illinois both end up at .500 in conference and the bid goes to whomever can win a second round game in the BTT. If neither can, Illinois has a chance, Iowa doesn't.

Illinois doesn't have to beat Iowa or finish higher in B1G to get in over Iowa.

Illinois recent resume is actually about as suspect as Iowa's with big wins over NW for both. IL caught IU at the right time and both badly beat a very currently bad MN team after struggling early.

Will be interestingly. Maybe exciting. Maybe sickening. Maybe set basketball back 50 years.
