Will Iowa get burned by a fake punt or onside kick?

Will IA fall for the fake punt or onside kick?

Since Iowa can't seem to stop it i'd say it's a safe bet to see it every game the rest of the season. Teams would be crazy not to.

Can it happen again?

It happened before, it WILL happen again. It's just a question of when.

You can bet Woads will pull out all the stops to win this one. With an extra week to prepare, there will most certainly be some trick plays installed.

It won't even have to be a fake anything, expect the clones to run one back after a kick off, maybe even the opening kick off if they win the toss. Hawkeye kick coverage has been poor to very poor so far this year, particularly in lanes 3 and 4 on the left side. They seem to be over pursuing and end up inside of lane 2 way to early. If the return man gets the ball somewhat to the outside and fakes to the middle or cross field and then cuts it back outside...

Not so much w/ punt coverage though. Pretty much the opposite actually. They are staggering their arrivals and not overshooting. This has been a bright spot on special teams lately.

I expect the Hawkeyes will own TOP and will score frequently but will have the clones starting out drives near midfield where our less than stellar secondary is most vulnerable to big plays. The kick return game is going to keep the clones in the game.

Pretty sure I will puke if they successfully execute a fake punt or onside kick against the hawks w/ the game on the line.

Ferentz doesn't seem to know its ever coming. How many times does it have to happen before you correct the problem? In Kirk's case, apparently the answer is never correct problem because it doesn't exist.

What does not exist is your attention to what actually happened...the coaches had the regular defense on the field and were in the "punt safe" formation because they knew that their opponent had a tendency to use the fake punt. They worked on it all week. We had a breakdown by one (or two) individuals that caused the problem. Pay attention.

This is the latest company line. What's sad is if that's true and you knew it was coming and were prepared for it, you STILL couldn't stop it.
