Will B1G Get Two BCS Bids? Will 13-0 Wisky get left behind?

The B1G doesn't deserve a second BCS bid. We've got Wisconsin...and that's it. We'd be lucky to "play down" a level during bowl season and still scrape together a winning post-season. If we sent two teams to the BCS, and everybody "played up", it would be a slaughter. We'd probably go with one victory, like during the 2008 campaign.

The best way would be for a Legends Division winner to win the CCG, and a 12-1 Wisconsin team would be a lock for the BCS.

Unless something catostophic happens, they won't play for the MNC, nor do they deserve to. Any of the top 3 teams would beat Wisconsin by 3 td's.

The champion of the Big Ten title game will get an automatic bid (obviously).

I believe that the only other teams that could get a bid would be Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, Penn State or Iowa, because they travel so well.

The problem is that it is going to take 2 losses or less to get a bid. Here are the losses so far: Penn State (1); Michigan (1); Nebby (1); Michigan (1); Iowa (2)

1. Eliminate Iowa because they will lose again (probably multiple losses).
2. Penn State still has to play Ohio State; Nebraska; Illinois; NW
3. Michigan still has Iowa on the road; Ohio State; Nebraska
4. Nebby has Michigan; Michigan State; Iowa; pesky NW; and Penn State! Ouch!

I don't think there will be a Big Ten team with 2 losses or less, other than Wisconsin. The schedules are just too difficult

There is a lot of football left to be played but if Wisconsin, Stanford, Boise State, LSU/Alabama, and Oklahoma all end up undefeated at the end of the season there is going to be a lot of clamoring for some kind of playoff. Even just a plus 1 game would be huge.

If Wisconsin is 13-0 they will be in the NC game. Right or wrong, if you are from the B1G and go undefeated, the whole nation wants you in the NC game. Except Iowans

They do? If LSU/BAMA, and Oklahoma are undefeated...no Wisc in the title game more than likely.

Also, the only way the Big Ten gets two teams in the BCS is if somehow the Legends champ beats Wisc in the B1G title game, and that is Wisconsin's only loss.

John, I agree we only get one BCS bid. I am hoping it is Wiconsin. I know this is early in the year for this. If college football could end with 4 undefeated teams, and I SOOOO hope it does. Is there finally enough financial pressure for a playoff. Every year I hope the BCS falls flat and every year it works out for them. We need multiple undefeated teams, from the power conferences. Cheese land would be in a uproar if they roll through this season winning evergame by 21 or more. I think they may have the talent to do it.

Just proves, once again, how s-t-u-p-i-d the whole BCS quagmire is.

Uncaring/uneducated voters, half-@ssed computer input, homerism, on and on.

Until a playoff or at least a +1 is instituted, my tag line will remain, sadly, true.

It does seem stupid that only 2 teams get to play for the title. If Wisky goes unbeaten through 13 games, it just stands to reason that they should qualify for some type of playoff for the title. For cripes sakes, this is probably the best team in their long history of football.

Frankly, it isn't any different than IA in 09. If Stanzi doesn't go down, we go 12-0 and would have been shut out of the title picture. Unfair

If Stanford and Wisky are both undefeated and they play a 3 vs 4 Rose Bowl, it will be more likely to get superconferences moving forward than a playoff system within the current BCS system.

Here is the funny thing, for all of the good things he does, and as strong of a leader as he is, Jim Delaney is a strong supporter of the bowls and is against a playoff system. He could be screwing over his own conference by doing this.

The B1G doesnt need a playoff system. If Wisky goes undefeated and is dominating all the way through i bet they get a split like USC got a few years ago. A playoff would ruin this beautiful game.

Iowa wins the Big Ten, beating a previously undefeated Wisconsin teams in the Championship game, the Big Ten then has two BCS teams. It will happen.

Wisky is in its right place in the BCS poll. They have looked good so far but who and where have they played them? Nebraska at home, that's it. A Nebraska team that was getting pounded by OSU in Lincoln until Braxton Miller went down with an injury. Wisky has played Oregon State, South Dakota, UNLV, Northern Illinois, and Indiana...enough said. All of those teams are sub par football teams. Nebraska is far and away the best team they've played and they might not even win their own division this year.

Wisky could very easily end up near the top of the BCS standings. At this point in time they are right where they belong. They will earn respect if they beat MSU, a team with a legit D.

In the end, the Big Ten will get two bids if Wisky wins out and loses in the Big Ten title game.

I am a big fan for a +1, to me this keeps everyone happy. I think for this to happen we need to see undefeated teams from 4 of the 5 major conferences.

Imagine this BCS lineup:

BCS Championship:
Alabama/LSU (13-0) vs Oklahoma (13-0)

Rose Bowl
Wisconsin (13-0) vs Stanford (13-0)

Orange Bowl
West Virginia (11-1) vs Clemson (13-0)

Sugar Bowl
LSU/Alabama (11-1) vs Boise State (12-0)

Fiesta Bowl
Oregon (10-2) vs Oklahoma State (11-1)

I know the chance of this happening is slim but in my projections we could have as many as 4 teams finishing undefeated (also Houston is undefeated). This would create a ton of controversy that you would think they would be forced to do something.
