Wow...just wow. Fran is building something special guys. Talent layered with Talent...and you have some great young players already...this kid's game travels...take the three away...he can beat you off the dribble and has a nice pull up game.

Something brewing in Carver for the next 5-10 years...

I have asked this before, but no feedback. Is there any chance a big boy program swoops in and gets him to flip? And yes, swoops is the technical term.

Not a chance, he's 100% Hawkeye.

Yeah, he's a diehard Hawk - and he wants to play with the pieces already in IC as well as what is the pipeline. From what I heard he was the best player on the court during the barnstormers Vegas trip and he's got a great shot at being a McDonald's All American. I think the Barnstormers might have lost to the Big Baller team? Not sure on that, but I know Lavar's team was out there too. Patrick played in the same tournament and turned a lot of heads too. He hasn't committed to Iowa because Fran thinks that Connor committing so early HURT him as far as recruiting prospects and accolades.

When you look at his list of offers on various sites, it still only lists the 3 in state schools as having offered him. He may have gotten more, but he may have also told others that he's solid to Iowa and not to waste their time. Having said that, I'll feel a lot better about it in November when his signs.

As will we all, but I think people feel pretty confident on him. Patrick, who seems like a no brainer, said he would actually like Notre Dame to offer. That at least raised an eyebrow.

Is he more Jok or Marble, or a completely different animal all together?

Different animal all together. He's not just a shooter like Jok and he's much more polished the DMJ coming out of HS- he has a complete game. He can shoot the 3 but can also drive, dish and facilitate. I am a poster on here that always thinks that people need to slow their roll on incoming freshman playing big rolls - I kind of feel like Joe W is gonna come in and if not start, play big minutes from day 1.

One thing I noticed, albeit not surprising, is as Joe continues to impress as he did at the top 100 camp being voted an all star, his recruiting ranking appears to keep falling on most of the sites. That's the Iowa & early commit bias working against him.

One offer from Kansas and I'm sure it'd jump by 30 points.

He's what we all thought Matt Gatens was going to be. Yes, Lackluster effed with this career, but he was never the dribble drive guy we thought he was going to be, besides being a long range bomber.
