We always hear how the Ferentz style keeps us in games against OSU, PSU, Wisky, and SEC teams.. The Ferentz apologists admit that the drawback, though, is that we leave lesser teams within striking distance.
My question is, why can't we blitz the hell out of teams like Minnesota? The "we don't have the athletes to play aggressive defense" excuse doesn't hold water against the Minnesotas of the world. It's not like you have to file a gameplan at the beginning of the year and use it for every game. Why do we not have alternate gameplans (esp. on defense) to force lesser teams into mistakes and lengthen the game, rather than allow them to shorten the game?
(P.S. I would've loved to see the Hawks with 8 in the box after the onside kick. Make it so that if Minnesota beats you, they do it with 6 min. still on the clock.)
