Why not Brad Stevens?

besides the fact that he coached at the same place Lick did.

If he would take the job, I think this is a chance to get a real talent and possibly the next big thing in terms of coaches. Iowa is going to have a hard time bringing in an experienced coach that has had a lot of success.

Stevens has set the record for the most wins in his first 3 years of coaching. He's only 33 and watching his games, you get the sense his gameplan is better than the opposing coach.

I would be happy with Stevens as opposed to a tired, experienced coach.

After the game last night it seemed to me like Boeheim totally gave him the fly by like, "punk kid gameplanned me...time to take it out on my players"

"Butler" ... enough said

Bringing this up again. If Stevens would come to Iowa...we would be fools not to grab him. He looks like a superstar to me.

Does he have a son who could walk on?

LOL! No, but seriously after watching a few games, he doesn't appear to play the same way Lick did. My guess is he wouldn't consider us after what happened to Lick. He'll have success wherever he goes next, if he goes at all.

Please. You're just blinded by the post-coital glow of seeing his team pull off a couple of monster upsets. Had someone mentioned his name as a possibility four days ago, the cries of "NOWAYYOU'REANIDIOTHE'SANOBODYBUTLERWAYINDIANABOYBARFARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!" would've been heard from Des Moines to Nairobi.

We already went the Butler way.

The clowns went the "Panther" way and that didn't pan out. Anyone close to the program has said Jacobson was the real mastermind behind their success.

Maybe Stevens was the guy at Butler. It appears he can at least talk to his players.

He would never come here after Lick's firing. No more need be said on this thread. Close it.

I agree. Just making the point that the head coach isn't necessarily the reason for the success at any program. What would Alford be without Neal?

I don't doubt any of that.

I tend to believe that is correct, whether we want Stevens or not. The Iowa/Butler tension is probably a little too much for both sides, I would imagine. The wounds are fresh.

As I posted on another thread, another reason he wouldn't want to come here is because Butler has a better basketball program.

yeah...it's just a couple of wins is all.

nevermind that he hasn't lost this year or that he has more wins in his first 3 years than any other coach in history.
