Why is the timeline so difficult for many to digest?

To suggest an answer to the question posed in the OP's subject line: I think everyone in the "rock the boat" group (of which I am usually a member) assumed we were going to have Parker promoted, but then, the length of the search got us all excited that maybe Kirk was looking elsewhere. As Duff said, he probably was looking there, he just didn't go there.

If Campbell is announced in April as the O-coordinator, there will undoubtedly be another (hopefully smaller) meltdown. Fact is, Kirk's overall scheme works great when we have players, and Kirk's been bringing some great players in the last couple years. It's time to be patient with this program for a year or two (something I admittedly haven't done well since 2008 or maybe even 2001), and that includes chilling out about offseason moves and news.

(1) KF wanted to announce defensive position coaches at the same time as the DC.

I mean, how long has it been since KOK quit Iowa for Miami?
My guess is: KF didn't agree to Morgan being the DLine coach until KOK retired.

(2) Either KF is extremely loyal to his coaches or KF couldn't get an outside hot-shot coach to his liking to interview for DC.
IMO, KF would have a hard time getting outside hot-shot coaches to interview for DC at Iowa because KF has his thumbprint oppressively on every part of the Iowa football program.
