Why hasn't Dakich been fired?

Let me make this very simple. Adam Woodbury is not afraid to put his hand in your face and is clumsy enough to poke an eye in the process. That is clear. To say he is trying to poke someone in the eye is a completely different universe.

To call a student / athlete a gutless coward on national TV is a fireable offence and there is no middle ground.

Forget what he said during the game; he wouldn't be the first to say something like that and keep his job. I'm more curious why he hasn't been at least reprimanded for getting into a Twitter war, trolling a coach and a fanbase directly for over 36 hours. That's incredibly unprofessional behavior.

+1000.

Dakich has too many influential buddies in the media business and college hoops.

Calling for his firing seems a bit extreme. As did Dakich's comments calling Woodbury gutless and a coward. Looking at the videos, I can see how a person would come to the conclusion that Woodbury purposefully poked Kaminsky. But I could also see how a person could interpret that as incidental. It isn't a slam dunk one way or the other.

I don't know if Dakich was pre-disposed to think ill of Woodbury after ESPN showed how Woodbury stole the tip a couple of times this year by holding the opponent's arm when going up for the opening tip. Woodbury didn't do that against Wisconsin, and the Badgers won the tip. Dakich is getting what he wants, which is attention and trolling Iowa fans.

Oh, glad to hear there is no middle ground - lock the threads, stop the debate!

What if the exact same set of circumstances had occurred except that Georges Niang had been the perpetrator of the eye poking and Dakich had proceeded to rip Niang and "troll" the ISU fan base. Would you be able to find any "middle ground" there? Probably not, because posters would be falling all over each other trying to be first in line to lionize Dakich via e-fellatio (that's "electronic fellatio" for those not in the know).

You managed to do what I thought was impossible. You used Woodbury and slam dunk in the same paragraph. Kudos to you, Dodger.

I bigger problem is not the alleged eye gouge, it's that a player three years into the program still gets thrown around by a physical team like wisky, like he's a 7th grade girl.

Dakich has been biased against Iowa since his playing days. Iowa must have kept him from superstar status which he seems to think he was all that when he played. I've been following the Hawkeyes since 1976 and I can't recall anything about him playing. That being said I wish they would move him to cover Big 12 games only.

Now if we had Pollard as our AD, he would have already identified the vast ESPN conspiracy against us, and requested, dare I say DEMANDED, a formal apology letter from ESPN and free tickets to Disney World. Too bad our gutless coward of an AD would never stand up to media conspiracy and ... ok .. I can't type this anymore with a straight face.

I agree. Now granted, I turned the channel because it was painful to watch the beating we took, but I haven't seen anything from woody in three years that says he is a dirty gutless coward. I doubt he just decided to start poking players in the eye.

I think he played with Alford didn't he? I've heard that their still buds so he might have an axe to grind for what went down here with Alf.

Some guy called in yesterday to Murph and Andy and reminded them that Dakich was on the Indiana team that threw the ball off of Lohaus's face. Yeah, Dan, that wasn't exactly a courageous act was it?
