Why do Clones always schedule a bye week before Hawk game?

Looking at their schedule for 2019 and they open with UNI at home and then a bye week and then Iowa game in Ames. Must need that extra week of prep just for the Hawks. Maybe figure out how to score more than 3 points this time.

On the other hand we have a conference game the week before.

I do believe they schedule that bye to have an extra week to prepare for the Super Bowl AND so they can say that they had a week off early in the season and didn't get a chance to work out the kinks. Having an extra week to prepare and having a built in excuse is what you get when you have an AD who is an expert in dealing with Little Brother Syndrome.

This year is gonna be a little different for everyone With Thanksgiving a week later almost every team is going to have 2 bye weeks.

By the end of the year it will be because Dean/Mitchell/whoever the hell else they have at QB wasn't playing yet.
