Why didn't an article like this come from an Iowa writer???

Let's clear a few things up here. First, I've forgotten more about media and politics than the collective rest of you will ever learn. So STFU, you dedicated wingnuts are hopelessly ignorant and sound it. Stick to football and beer. You're gonna drown over here in the deep end.

Second: How's your. 401k the past six years? Again, STFU. You're stupid. You're up over 100% and all you do is squeal like stuck pigs.

Finally, I'm not gonna be lectured by a bunch of morons who got hoodwinked by Karl Rove into supporting people and policies that fail like clockwork and have saddled my children with trillions in debt. Take your Sarah Palin action figures and shove them up your perpetually fear-clenched sphincters.

I've been right about Kurt, right about his QB, right about all of it. I'm right about this other stuff too. Why? Simple: because I've got a huge IQ, and cuz my only bias is towards truth and reality. I analyze with cold detachment. It provides great clarity.

Maybe some of you FOX and AM radio worked-over deliberate morons should give reality a shot instead of living lives of slavish stupidity in service of demonstrably false ideologies. You seem incapable of distinguishing between sports fandom and political tribalism.

A little free advice.

Will you please keep politics out of this forum? We really don't care to read your political opinions when we, instead, want to discuss Iowa football.

I'd say the Wingnut is right here...jeez!

You would say that because you radical worked-over delta bravos would think such a thing about someone dedicated to evidence-based, empirically driven critical thinking.

Don't get all bitter over it. Most y'all don't posses the IQ to pull it off. So carry on in your hazy, confused existence. Ignorant stupidity ain't a crime.

Take it up with the jagoff who decided to plop his wingnut turd in the punchbowl. I'm just fishing it out and shoving it down his throat.

Those writers are stupid. I should write an article about how bad the cornsuckers are just to show them. Maybe they should remove the log from their eye first before trying to remove the sliver from our eye. While I am at it I should write an article about how bad the mildcat coach is too since so many people seem to think that he is such a great coach.

How Gary Barta views the program:

"We were just a few plays away in both the Wisconsin and Nebraska games from winning the Big Ten West...so I think the program is right where we need it to be. We just need to make those plays."

"I think the message board fans are a little fanatic about every little detail and don't understand what goes into maintaining a major college program and how close we really are to winning at a high level."

I'm pretty sure at this point, since the evidence exists, that Kirk Ferentz will always be a few plays away from winning the big games when they matter most. 7-5, 4-8, 8-4, 7-5...do not lie.

Ummm...this was 2014. In 2015, Kirk Ferentz went undefeated...12-0. Nice timing.
Yeah, nice timing.

What would you say about this 2014 quote:
I'm pretty sure at this point, since the evidence exists, that Kirk Ferentz will always be a few plays away from winning the big games when they matter most. 7-5, 4-8, 8-4, 7-5...do not lie.

?????

That's why absolutes should be avoided.

"Kirk Ferentz will USUALLY / ALMOST always be a few plays away..."

Keeps one from looking silly.

I didn't bring this thread back up. I'm ok with my comment there, based on that timeframe. However, I'll also admit I was wrong. He made the decision on CJ vs Rudock and they went undefeated in the regular season. Kirk can do it...he just needs a few things to go right...namely a clutch player like CJ to make the kind of plays he made in big, big moments.

I think if you are willing to go back 3-4 years and look at comments after a game against Nebraska where we blew a 17 point lead in the second half...well we all may have made some silly comments.

I don't think the sentiment of your (2014) comment was, or is, wrong- just needed the slight adjustment I suggested.

But I don't think I've ever seen a mock (your current / recent comment) that could be so easily turned back on the "mocker". I couldn't resist...

Boy, things have sure changed since 2014 when you compare Iowa against Nebraska. Iowa is 28-12 since that time, with a West Championship, a Rose Bowl berth, and a bowl win, not to mention 18-8 in the conference. Iowa also is 3-0 in that time frame against the Huskers.

Nebraska, of course, fired their coach after 2014, and then fired their coach AGAIN in 2017 after going 4-8.

Barta was right to keep Ferentz.

I want to make sure I'm following this argument correctly.

You're saying Nebraska's been pretty bad over the last 3 years. And, Iowa's clearly been better.

Therefore, because we've been better than "pretty bad", Barta continuing to extend KF's contract is clearly justified.

Does that sum it up?

"KF, as long as your team is better than "pretty bad", we want to make sure your contract is never a concern to you. Wouldn't want you preoccupied with minor things like how to make your program GOOD again."
