Why did we try and trap with one minute to go?

One thing that keeps bugging me is why did we send a 2nd defender at Garrett with under a minute to go? He passed out of it and they swung it around to Christopherson who buried the dagger 3.

Why not just play it straight there and try to get a stop? ISU had been struggling in the half court and creating a scramble situation was a weird decision imo.

I guess I dont understand the need to take that risk since it was a 2 point game

I have no issues with the trap, I have issues with the player that left the shooter for absolutely no reason. In those situations, the 3-pointer is not the best shot, but when there is a player that just chucked one 30 seconds earlier, what reason would he not do it again, so don't leave him alone. Let the guy drive to the bucket and try and block him or foul him hard and hope he missed a free throw.
