Kinda like his substitutions logic. So Cook,Nunge and Garza were playing really well to start the game, had 19 of Iowa’s 23 points, getting boards etc and his first subs were Baer, Wagner and penal who replace Cook, Nunge and Garza.. lmao!!!! I sat there thinking WTF!!!

Would gives you confidence that man would have been any better? It's been awful this year. At least in zone, theoretically, each guy has a responsibility.

Indiana is the second worst three-point shooting team in the league. Well, it was. Haven't checked stats after yesterday's game.

I wish he would just pick one defense and play it all season long. At least that would see some improvement from the first game to the last. Theoretically.

They did go man early in 2nd half Bohannon got torched twice. They got skittish and switched back zone.

Switched back to man with Kriener, Wagner and Baer in is when we made our run.

Iowa has defeciencies in athleticism in guard court, need a linebacker inside, a defensive assistant specialist and an effort assistant specialist.

The loose ball we didn’t get and then they turn around and bury a 3 - inexplicable and this is the thing that pisses me off most about this year.

Man was better and after we switched to it we got back into the game?

The thing with Iowa is we need to zone teams when we have several mismatches in our man defense. I don’t think that’s the case against Indiana I actually think our starting lineup matches up pretty well.

When we played Nebraska for instance we should have been in zone because we had several mismatches. Of course Fran played man that game and we got shredded.

As I’ve said many times in the game threads this year, Fran just isn’t seeing the game well this season.

Like the zone early in the game, it took Indiana bit to adjust, as it did Michigan on Wednesday.

The point is there wasn't evidence that the man would work any better than the zone. It's been awful this season. All the defenses have been bad.

The only way Iowa wins on a regular basis is if the players will it. Fran can stay in the locker room and we wouldn't play any worse.

Indiana had 10 points through the first 4:40 of the game, which was roughly their pace for the game.

I get what you are saying that both defenses suck. I also understand the logic in zoning Indiana if they are a poor shooting team. I just find it ironic that a coach who prides himself on switching defenses taking forever to switch out of a defense that clearly was not working.

the single biggest issue with this team is quickness and foot speed. see: "why we play zone."

We simply do not have enough athletes on the floor. It looks like a bunch of guys who should be playing in the Missouri Valley (except for Cook and Bohannon). Extremely frustrating and depressing!!!
