He's from Bellflower, CA...the same place as Carfino.
I was born in '75 so Carfino was on the first Iowa teams that I watched.
If things were done then like they are now I wouldn't even know where Carfino was from but back then they always showed the players running out for the starting lineups on tv. Wow, I miss that. It really adds to the excitement leading up to tipoff. I really wish they still did that.
