I know it's Rudock but stats must lie sometimes. Math ain't what it used to be. Sorry if this article was already posted but it just came out on bleacher report.

From article;

Ferentz said both quarterbacks have improved this spring. Beathard got the longer look Saturday. He led the first-team offense in the second half and finished 21 of 39 for 349 yards and a touchdown. Rudock was the starter and completed 11 of 22 for 165 yards with a TD and interception.

i don't know how recent that article is because with bleacher report you never know. Here is another link to a more recent article.

If it's Bleacher report you have to consider their lack of credibility. Anybody can send anything in. It's possible that it's entirely accurate but I would check other sources to make sure.

Sounds like the spring game stats.

Anyway, with Sokol and Simonek gone, and the new guy red-shirting, my guess is the starter will be who is healthiest that week. If Rudock is 100% healthy, then its Rudock. If Rudock is 80%, idk maybe Beathard. But based on stats from 2013, beathard was not good in 2013. Hopefully he will show us something more in 2014. Otherwise it will be all Rudock, all the time.

You know the fan base IQ is dropping when ALL of the following occur:

1) Questions about starting QB when none of the staff has said there are changes
2) People citing Bleacher Report
3) People citing Spring game, scrimmage or high school stats as supporting evidence for a QB change
4) People reading stats from either of above and letting it cause undue enthusiasm OR worry
5) For reasons for the 4 points above, see, "PTL: Does it mean ANYthing..at all?"

Do the coaches use the spring game to help evaluate the players?

Rudock had similar numbers to stanzi's soph year. If stanzi had played every game full time he would have had pretty much the same numbers as rudock did last yr. if rudock can grow similar to stanzi I don't see any reason to be down on him.

Iowa needs a big formal "breaking news" announcement on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/MySpace/Friendster/LinkedIn/Hi5/Billboard/Mall Steps/State Fair Wall like ISU did today with the announcement of that one crappy guy as their starter.

Here we go

Come on, you can do better than that.

My guess is KF prefers the quarterback who will make the least mistakes as opposed to the one who produces the most offense.

you nailed it.

if he were in charge of a wagon train they would still be in Pennsylvania.....gazing to the west...thinking about all those trees out there...paralyzed with fear over running into one of em

Seems to me Ferentz picked the best QB last year, we won 8 games.

If QB was all about arm strength or quickness, Jay Cutler and Michael Vick might have a super bowl ring, but they don't.

I'm 100% excited to see jakes progression this year, especially after some of the comments from the BTNs trip to Iowa city.
