Who's Iowa's 2nd Kicker Now?

With the news that Blom was implicated in this gambling deal, made me wonder. Does Iowa have a 2nd or emergency kicker going into the season? Anybody know if they are expecting players to sit out games or lose all their eligibility? What are the chances that Blom doesn't continue on the team?

Can Iowa bring in a potential player for a roster spot at this point, like have special on campus tryouts or something?

There's a chance to bring someone in. Within the last week we brought in a punter from Iowa Western (who didn't kick there or in HS). He was headed to NW Mo. St. but just decided to come to Iowa. He must not have signed anything. I don't know how JUCO rules (or other divisions) work. For example, if a kicker from small college X has the chance to kick at Iowa, could he if the school allowed him?

Yep. Drew's still the man and a helluva kicker. Just needs to get his head right. Kicks have been low lately, even the ones that weren't blocked. The KO's obviously need to be fixed too, but he'll be fine.

Yes I would hate for Stevens to turn into the next Trent Mossbrucker, a former Iowa kicker who had a great freshman season in 2008 but got pulled for the game winning kick against PSU for Daniel Murray and was never the same again. Mossbrucker got a 2nd chance to become the FG kicker in 2010 and got pulled again, this time for Meyer.

The radio guys said on the postgame show that there was a possibility of a groin injury that had been giving Stevens fits. I've never hoped for an injury before, but hope that this is all it is.
