Who ya got as your Heisman front runner?

My favorite right now is Ryan Mallet. He's in a system that will get him that stats and the Razorbacks will be in contention for the conference title in the SEC. Also watch out for Stanford QB Andrew Luck. This is as wide open of a race has as there's been. There are plenty of high profile quarterbacks like Pryor, Locker, Moore as well as plenty of realistic dark horse potential with Cousins, Brantley, and Stanzi. At running back it's even more stacked with up to 10 high profile running backs.

So what? All I'm saying is that the kid can sling the rock.

And I'm not saying he can't. But look at the history of quarterbacks from teams that throw it 50 times a game (Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Graham Harrell). Generally they're in the Heisman running, but aren't true contenders to actually win it. Harrell is probably the exception here, but he also played for Texas Tech when Tech had a legitimate shot to make the title game. Keenum will put up good stats, but unless he goes for 6,000 yards, 50 TD, and 5-10 Ints, I don't think he'll deserve the Heisman. Just my two cents.

Don't think he'll deserve it, or don't think he'll win it? There's a difference, just want to clarify.

To be honest, both. I don't think he'll deserve it because of his competition (OOC schedule includes Texas Tech, Miss St., and UCLA -- not exactly the stiffest defenses in the world) and I don't think he'll get it because, with a few exceptions, the Heisman lately has seemed to go to the best player on one of the top two teams.
