Who will step up and get nasty on defense?

No one has to be nasty to be good. We do have to be strong, quick, fast, smart, and team players. The other stuff like being nasty is for high school...
Here's some guys that played with that edge that I miss..Roth...King...Sanders...Angerer...Sash...

I'd like to see some "nasty BA defense" attitude return to this squad, as well.
I feel the linebacking corp is poised to do so. I feel this way for a several of reasons that I would like to share with you now.
- all three are multi year starters with plenty of experience under their belt.
-Each year improvement has been made from the linebackers.
-another year of hanging with Coach D. will help with strength and speed/quickness issues. I think Morris will benefit from this the most, as I think he was still just a half a step slow in pass coverage and stopping the run.
-the comments from Morris at the end of the year. He talked about holding each other accountable for both on field performance as well as offseason workouts, making it sound as though he also wanted the nasty to return.

Those are the reasons I think the linebacking corp is poised for a good/nasty year. Thank you for your time.

Eda, you make good points on the LBs. Should be interesting to see how good these three Sr LBs can be if the DL is improved enough so the system can work the way it is intended to work

Will getting nasty on defense improve Iowa's ability to get first downs on offense after the first quarter?
