Really think so? Unless the named starter really struggles i do not see it.

Unless someone has CLEARLY separated themself from the others I think they will get two series then rotate. Remember jc was a clear starter and then rotated with Stanzi and this situation is much less clear than that. Now if they plan on rotating but the starter sets the world on fires could see them stick with him. But I think the plan will be to rotate.

History says that KF first choice is not the best player, just the best for KF

Anybody thinks there will be a rotation of QBs has never watched a game coached by KF

Seriously, take a bunch of single sentences out of context.

"Sokol would be starting in the Pac Ten because they're not shy about throwing the ball"

Admittedly it's an opinion. You and DP555 seem to have a tough time telling the difference.

"I think KF likes Rudock because he's careful with the ball and he thinks Sokol is a bit of a gunslinger. That scares KF and he's getting even more conservative as he gets older"

Jon basically wrote the same thing as sentence one. Are you arguing KF is not conservative?

"Yes, he has a range of at least 15 yards which is more than enough for GD."

That was a joke, but nevertheless show me the pass he completed over 15 yrds in an Iowa uniform.

"Rudock isn't much different than JVB running. Sure he can run but I doubt he's athletic enough to scramble while keeping his focus downfield."

Again an opinion but I think it's true. So What? I don't think I was the only one to write about his running ability based on the video.

You realize that you didn't change the context of anything I quoted, you only defended your OPINIONS. My context was just fine, as I quoted the portion I wanted to quote.

How do you explain that reports are coming out now that both Rudock and Bethard have passed Sokol? Can't use the old KF rewards time in the program excuse as Sokol has been there as long as Bethard....why did he get jumped over by the FR?

No it doesn't. History shows that when talent is equal, Ferentz will typically go with the more experienced guy. What it hasn't shown is any sort of tendency to go with an older guy when someone younger than him is clearly better.

But I would agree with not seeing a rotation at QB. Kirk tried that in 2008 and we all saw how that worked out.

Everyone says that KF goes with experience. I don't know if I would say exactly that. I think he goes with the player who puts in more effort during practice, in the film room, and the weight room. I remember when CJ said that he finally got it, and started putting in effort every day on the practice field. Not long after that he was play much more. I think KF is a man that believes in hard work, and he isn't going to play a kid with talent who isn't working hard, especially when he has a kid working twice as hard as him (when they are in a position battle). In other words I think work and effort is the tie breaker, not talent level.

I get it, lots of coaches use talent at the tie breaker, but KF doesn't. As fans all we get a glimpse of is talent levels, not work ethic levels. So I guess I just assume the players that win the battles are either playing better in practice, or working a heck of a lot harder than the others.

Pitt:2008
Purdue:2001
It's great to know that it's good for the coach to play less talented players. Thanks.

If kf always goes with experience how did Nolan Macmillan start as a frosh on the line (arguably where Iowa should always have experience)?

The poll you should have started is...."Who will be the starting QB at the end of the season."
