I am encouraged by the simple fact that Sargent and Young BOTH figured out that the cutback lanes were there and they started using them. Now, it seemed like it took until the Illinois game, but they were definitely looking for the cutback lanes in the last 2 games.
They were there all year and if the offensive ground game really starts taking big chunks next year on a consistent basis, it will really open up the field more for our WR and TEs.
I also expect a lot of increased production from Tracey and Ragaini next year, to help cover for the losses of Easley. I expect big increases from Beyer and Cook’s production as well. They look like they could be very good TEs along with Weiting’s blocking.
The key - shockingly enough - is Nate Stanley and the new interior OL. Moreso Nate, I think as I expect Banwart and the Paulsen twins on the inside. Possibly Kallenberger at LG and Levi at RG. I think that starts out as a very good line and could really be good by the B1G.
The team needs Nate to hit open receivers and be more accurate on the deep ball.
